A catwalk is the protruding extra piece of staging that was at the front of nearly every Queen show since late 1974. This would be put into place when the main stage was put up and not after. The steps on either side of the stage are what they are....steps, leading to catwalks in front of the speakers that have been used by Queen in the large arenas since 1977. They are also known as a jetty.
These days a catwalk is also a means of getting to a sub stage or a 'b' stage that a lot of bands use for an acoustic set or to be more closer to the audience, just like the Q+PR concerts.

thanks for the info.

but regarding the subject of the structure of where Roger drum kitt is on, watching now (again) the A Beautiful Day doc of Wembley, there is a shot at 0:13m:43s where you can see the rodies carrying Status Quo equipment and you can see that structure where Roger drum kitt is on , it isn't on stage. Later on the documentary, skip to 0:15m:00s and you can see the rodies assembling the steps that are on both sides of Roger drum kitt.

so i believe that in Knebworth, and being the same stage (they used the bigger stage only in Wembley and Knebworth? even in Budapest it's the small one...) it's not very different from Wembley. the structure where Roger drum kitt is on it's assembled AFTER Status Quo show. i strongly believe in what i'm saying based on Wembley A Beautiful day Documentary footage.

I really can´t see why this gig and the two nights at Wembley, or the whole Magic-tour for that matter, always is talked about as THE show, THE shows and THE tour.

You had to be at Knebworth to experience it.

Whilst the toilet facilities werent all that great,At least the band was. That was easily the best that i've ever saw the band. And i've saw them 9 times all together.

Btw i thought that Big Country were absolutely brilliant.I wasnt alone in that either.

Status Quo.I thought that thier sound was pretty crap.Thier drummer was reduced to what sounded to me like a clicking sound, therefore suggesting that there was something wrong with the mics on the drums.

Belouise Some were just plain bad.
I never forget a face, but in your case i'll be glad to make an exception-Groucho Marx

Yeah I guess you are right. But didn´t they peak, "live-wise", around Crazy tour(as musicians)? I´m talking sound, vocals etc. not the "Show" itself(lightning rigs and other scene specatculars). That has alway been a thought of mine. I haven´t really been into all this bootleg stuff so I´m relying on the live albums, witch I know, count for shit.

I wouldn't base any conclusions solely on any documentaries or other footage released by Doro - they are notorious for countless errors regarding venues, dates, years, etc.. within virtually all their hatchett compilation jobs on Queen video material.

I found a picture in one of the books I have of the audience with the same Japanese/Dutch flag (with Queen written on it) as in that Status Quo picture, so I guess that one is from 1986. I think you can see "qu" on the Dutch flag in the Status Quo picture.
I don't have a scanner but I took a picture with my camera. Here it is:
