According to some news I hear that in November will come out a compilation called"Queen forever".
Has someone hear about it ? What it ll be about?
I think it was mentioned by the Polish FC.

Hello All My Life, welcome on board !
very little to confirm about this project, I´m afraid, but lots of speculation going on here or at the QOL forum about what the content of "Queen Forever" should be.
Some say this could be some sort of , yes, compilation project with renditions by guests artists; some say unreleased tracks could be included (ie: Freddie + Michael Jackson), etc etc
time will tell !

as All My Life said in the first post, first news came from the polish fan club, I think, or from someone at Universal Poland leaking the info, months prior to the release of the remastered albums.
As for the live albums, yes, it´s been said from "official sources" that 2012 will be the time for the live catalogue. But don´t expect for sure seeing Live Magic or Live Killers re-issued and remastered. I wouldn´t bet for the first happening. And Live Killers ... that´s a different story.
I think at least one unreleased show will be issued, too.
cheers Vali

Do u think that in the next batch(WORKS & AKOM) there will be some extras with Live songs from Knebworth ? Hope to not hear Wembley songs again...

What do you mean?

I mean that the plan was to reissue all the live albums in 2012.
Considering what they ve done for the studio albums, I was hoping that 4 Live Killers & Live Magic will be add something.
For istance Live Killers misses Somebody to Love , FBG, It s late etc..while Live Magic come out really crap with all that fucking edits...
Imagine Live Magic 2012 with a Magic Tour set list with FULL songs taken from different gigs(Wembley-Knebworth-Budapest & Mannheim).
But maybe I am dreaming....
What do u think?

I wouldn't buy either compilation. Sure, I'd buy a complete gig from either tour, but not a mish mash again... even in better quality. Give me maybe 4 or 5 top gigs from each tour and I'll be happy.
I reckon we'll get the best tour from each era in a live box set, or maybe the top 10 throughout their career.
I hope Forever Queen isn't celebrity guests... that would be crap. really crap.

I wouldnt be suprised if Queen Forever was just another greatest Hits compilation released in time for Christmas.

I'd love a compilation from each tour. I always hoped a bootleg-expert would compile this at one point, a set including the best possible quality for each track performed during a gig. E.g. a Hot Space bootleg combining Put Out The Fire from the late 1982 shows with Liar, which was only performed during the start of the tour.

It's clear that we all have very different ideas about the reissue progam and it's fantastic to discuss it, but I really hope Queen would treat Live Killers and Live Magic just as other albums in their backcatalogue. They are very special albums although granted not for everyone - in my opinion perhaps in the same way The Miracle or Hot Space are disregared for whatever reason.
There was some discussion about how bonus material would be tagged onto both - restored into the correct running order for the tour (therefore compromising the original album's integrity) or tagged onto the end as a true 'bonus' (not ideal). From the above posts it seems like they might not even get reissued and replaced with something entirely different. That would be a shame, and a nasty bit of history rewriting. Then again, when Live Killers was chopped up and given away as a freebie with a Sunday newspaper a few years ago you can guess how little it is thought of by it's creators.
Of course, more archival stuff is welcome, but not at the expense of previous albums - this is Queen after all - produce will sell, and it's not like ignoring them will wipe them from history. I'm in a right grump now.
Also - Queen Forever. No thanks. They've gone too far down the X factor route.
