I don't know what to think about Queen Forever. I hate to be cynical - really I do - but like Vali commented, I'm surprised I can be so cold about this upcoming project. If Brian and Roger could re-use John's old bass tracks and sing lead vocals themselves on new songs they write, you could get a good few fresh tunes out of that. But let's look at the realistic clues - 'a ballad album', 'one or two new Freddie tracks', and 'possible compilation'. So who else is expecting something like the following tracklist:

You're My Best Friend
Somebody to Love
We Are the Champions
There Must Be To Life Than This (2014 Remix w/MJ)
Save Me
Las Palabras de Amor
Let Me In Your Heart Again (1983 Freddie version)
Who Wants To Live Forever
The Show Must Go On
Victory (w/MJ)
Sail Away Sweet Sister
Love Kills (2014 Remix)
Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow (12-inch version)

And as far as the MJ tracks, I'm not fussed, but I must point out in the case of 'waiting for new material', these were confirmed as 'nearly finished' five years ago. And don't get me wrong, LMLTNT isn't a bad song by any means, but it's a ballad anyway, so it's likely.[/QUOTE]

If they are going to release a ballads album featuring 3 new tracs only I won't buy it for sure. I'll download it. I am NOT gonna buy anymore QPL releases unless they do something really good and special (like the Rainbow release that i just preordered). Another album like GH3 or Absolute Queen would mean they rip off the fans again, and they just would not have my money. I want to be positive and think that this new album will be a sort of MIH 2

I had hopes this would be a full album like "MIH" but I have little doubt it's going to be a collection of NON-singles (obscure album tracks to GH-only fans) with 3-4 unreleased tracks. I won't buy it. I will get the new tracks of course.

I think the best case scenario is an album of new remixes of various Queen tracks and 3-4 "new" cuts. At least it wouldn't be stuff most fans already have in spades

To get some of the new tracks you might HAVE to buy the album, @YAFF. That would be normal practice, even if we don't like it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but in the last Clasic Rock Magazine it said the album will feature "duets with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Rod Stewart and Andy Gibb."
"Queen is the only band in the world that can play so heavily that your nose bleeds, then offer a silk handkerchief to clean up with."

i think Classic rock may have got it wrong!

Yes! iThat's if Brian is to be believed on his Soap Box. He was asking where do they get some of this stuff, in relation to the Gibb track at least!

I really hope that this project will not just be a big disappointment!

I wonder if they would put our another compilation with songs that we do have already on the Greatest Hits and
Deep Cuts.

If we talk about ballads perhaps they give us the Highlander Version of WWTLF with Freddie doing all the
vocals. Maybe there are Freddie Versions of Sail away sweet sister or Some Day one Day, all Dead etc. in the vaults.

I would love to hear a Bri and Rog reworked Version of
Love is the Hero if they get their hands on old stuff...

What about ''It's so You'' and ''Love Makin Love''? Brian and Roger could great things with these.

One question, who will play the bass, Brian? For the Cosmos Rocks he did it.

If you want that song, you can always search the AKOM remaster of c_Matt in the Fan mixes forum. In the CD 2 of the remaster, you can download that song with Freddie in the start, and without all those birds from the original movie. And also with greatly improved sound.
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

Maybe they could have done an album like 'Love ' that was released by The Beatles in 2006?

How George Martin described that album - 'what people will be hearing on the album is a new experience, a way of re-living the whole Beatles musical lifespan in a very condensed period'.

With William Orbit as the alleged producer Queen could try a fresh approach with all the tracks on the album. How the hell can they expect fans to be happy with possibly two thirds of the album being the same material again?!
