"Queen are releasing album later this year with previously unheard material" said Adam and then, as you can clearly see, Brian said "mostly" or something like that and then Adam adds "Some is going to be mastered, reworked, orchestrated and Love kills is one of them".. so there you go

Why did it have to be Paul Rodgers singining lead on 95% of Cosmos Rocks, and Why do the new Queen songs with Freddie need to be packaged with some Queen hits! for a compilation album
I think May and Taylor sound great, they sound great on only the good die you, that African Charity single on Cosmos Rocks, and throughout the Queen Discography. Sure Mercury was the "voice" in Queen, everybody gets that, but historically, May or Taylor would sing a couple tunes on most Queen albums. Why did they need Paul Rodgers on Cosmos Rocks, he just made it sound less Queenlike than if May and Taylor had sung, the new guy Lambert would have been better, maybe in the future they'll cut some new stuff with him.
Anyway for me personally the songs Cosmos Rocks and Surfs Up and Say It's Not True, those three tracks, even though Rodgers sings lead on the first two, all the huge Block group Vocals, and the Brian May Guitar sounds and layered May guitars, and Taylors drums, as well as just the bombastic, quirkiness, and sound effects, reminds me of Queen not bluesy Paul Rodgers, so for me, those tracks are Queen, sadly Mays songwriting contributions, Rodgers made those songs sound like Bad Company or something,, but Taylor somehow managed to keep his songs sounding like Queen, I'll take those three and possibly We Believe May's Ballad, and burn a new disc with the several new Mercury Queen songs, and get one final full length Queen album of all new material, sure Rodgers is singing on a couple of them unfortunate, but it will have to do. And this is not a dig at Paul Rodgers, he just isin't somebody who sounds like he should be singing in Queen, if you can't have Freddie, have May and Taylor do it, or get somebody like Lambert or George Michael or somebody who has the vocal timbres and resonance somewhat sounding, at least a little bit like Mercury.
I am excited about the new tracks, frankly I don't think Later Queen Stuff like Made in heaven is nearly as good as their 70's peak of News Of The World, Day At The Races. Jazz Or News of the World, they were in a zone 75-80 that was comparable to the Beatles in terms of the hits, classic tracks, just incredible, But hey, the later stuff is good, certain individual tracks are great, I like some of the later stuff, it all depends on the songs, maybe I Just like some of the songwriting better circa 1975-80 or maybe its the production style. or both. But hey I loved some of Taylors writing on Cosmos Rocking, he was ace superstar on that album, he wrote four or five incredibly good songs for that album, its just (urggh) Paul Rodgers sang most of the leads, but May produced them like he was Channeling RT Baker from an alternate universe in 1977 or something

Matt Z hates Cosmos Rocks? why? For the life of me, I can't think of a much worse match for Queen than Paul Rodgers, even so, a few of the tracks sound like Queen, not so much like Paul Rodgers, to my ears the tracks Cosmos Rockin, Surf's Up, and Say It's Not True, sound about 85% Queen, whereas some other tracks sound about 85% Rodgers, I just ignore those tracks and play those three over and over

If you're expecting a Queen album, TCR is a huge disappointment IMO And that's despite a few good songs. But it might be OK if you're not expecting a Queen album. I guess haven't reached that point with the album to know!. But I don't mind Brian and Kellie's version of All That Glitters (ie Once I Loved A Butterfly). However I note that TCR got a Metacritic rating of about 42 last time I checked, which is pretty damn low. And I wouldn't think all those reviewers are disappointed Queen fans!

Is there any update about the actual number of new Freddie Queen tracks for the Queen Forever album, will there be any new tracks composed by Brian May or Roger Taylor? Is there any other new information, such as the possibilty of a second new Queen studio album featuring Adam Lambert, or any other news pertaining to Queen in the recording studio?

For a long time, I've wanted to hear a reworking of Staying Power. That's a brilliant tune, and Freddie's vocals are at their best - but the backing lets it down. Even a damn good remix would do. Anything that takes it away from that early 80's sound. Mind you, it's not gonna happen on Queen Forever.
I wonder if they'll redo Love me like there's no tomorrow. It's a fairly strong tune.

I reckon it's a good bet Day Drop, since it missed out on the Freddie Mercury Album (The Great Pretender) rerelease. Other singles that Freddie released such as in My Defence and The Great Pretender might also be a good bet, although there would not even be the co-songwriting credit that Freddie gets on Love Kills (with Giorgio Moroder!).

how many new Queen tracks with Freddie will appear on Queen Forever?
Will there be any new May or Taylor tracks in addition the "new" Freddie tracks.
Besides the tribute song called No One But You, and the Cosmos Rocks, and the forthcoming Queen Forever, is there anything else that was released after Made In Heaven?

I listened to a bunch of unreleased Queen band demo's and also some unfinished studio tracks ,and a few of the one's I heard, clearly, with modern editing and DAWS (protools type equipment) it was very easy for me to find at least 2-3 worthy tracks in 20-30 minutes surfing youtube and the like.
Also, I don't know if it was coincidental, or because Queen Forever is currently being recorded, but there were a number of these unreleased tracks, that were now listed as "private" you could no longer hear them without permission from the uploading person.Maybe May or Taylor or their manager, said cool it, we might be using that one.
But I did hear a few nice tunes or partial tunes, seemingly well recorded, from the Innuendo sessions, and maybe even an unused Made in Heaven session also, some solo Mercury stuff, some other stuff, early songs, that I doubt are in contention, a Taylor Queen song about a dog bone from mid seventies, I did hear a nice vintage 77-78 Quee song by May, but it was only a band rehearsal, not a multi track recording, so I would doubt that one...
My point is, just doing that minimal easy research on youtube, finding maybe 3 useable good songs, I've got to figure they could easily compile 8-10 good new tracks with Freddie easy, and perhaps Taylor and May could write 2-4 new songs, they could have an entire, good quality all new album of 10-14 tracks mostly with Freddie on Lead vocals, easy, easy no muss no hassle, the editing and overdubbing might be tricky, but very doable....
I also listened to Cosmos Rocks and the Never Without You single, last night, and the signature May guitar styles, and the huge block group vocals, and Taylors nice drumming, and the clever little sound effects and clever production ideas, and well thought out arrangements, building the song as it went, etc etc, all those techniques and abilities were very much in play.
The guys have enough, to make a real nice monster album, real good stuff if they choose too. Even just sticking 3-6 new tracks with some other Queen hits will be worth 10-15 bucks to me to hear the new songs. But I would be a lot happier if they had more new material, at least 8-9 new tracks with maybe 2 of those being new Taylor May songs, perhaps even speaking to the history of Queen, or the freindship or memories. With cds able to run what? 70-78 minutes? they could easily do 8 new tracks, depending on length, and still stick 8 well known ballads, or 8 of their biggest hits and have room to spare,
Sorry for my long windedness, I'm saying all this, because I figure there is a 50/50 chance these remarks might get back to Queen or the manager or someone at the record company, what I'm saying is 3-4 new tracks is a nice gift, but I think you would do better, and sell more, if there is close to a new album worth of fresh songs, maybe even a couple just by Taylor/May, combine 8 new songs with 8 big hits, then you get like a new album and the hits, add one new video for one of the new Freddie songs, use animation or archival footage, whatever, and this will excite people, oh wow, 8-10 biggest hits and a bunch of new tracks as well!
Having said all that, (sorry) 3-6 new Freddie Queen tracks, and I know I'm repeating myself, but I really dig, the one off Good Die Young single, and Cosmos Rockin, Surf's Up and Say It's Not True from the Queen + Rogers album so I'm gonna have enough material for a last proper Queen album either way. Even if Rodgers is singing lead on 2-3 tracks, the two rock tracks, Freddie or Brian wouldn't have sounded that much different on Surfs up or Cosmos Rockin, all that vocal timbre, and vibrato doesn't really come that much into play on that kind of song. And Brian and Roger both sing on the Good Die Young and Say It's Not true, and they sound good singing, thats the bloody point, sure Mercury was the "VOICE" of Queen, but May and Taylor sing well, sometimes you gotta use whats in the cupboard
Why is all this important? Because it's probably our last or next to last chance to ever get anything new from some very talented guys.

I don't know what to think about Queen Forever. I hate to be cynical - really I do - but like Vali commented, I'm surprised I can be so cold about this upcoming project. If Brian and Roger could re-use John's old bass tracks and sing lead vocals themselves on new songs they write, you could get a good few fresh tunes out of that. But let's look at the realistic clues - 'a ballad album', 'one or two new Freddie tracks', and 'possible compilation'. So who else is expecting something like the following tracklist:
You're My Best Friend
Somebody to Love
We Are the Champions
There Must Be To Life Than This (2014 Remix w/MJ)
Save Me
Las Palabras de Amor
Let Me In Your Heart Again (1983 Freddie version)
Who Wants To Live Forever
The Show Must Go On
Victory (w/MJ)
Sail Away Sweet Sister
Love Kills (2014 Remix)
Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow (12-inch version)
And as far as the MJ tracks, I'm not fussed, but I must point out in the case of 'waiting for new material', these were confirmed as 'nearly finished' five years ago. And don't get me wrong, LMLTNT isn't a bad song by any means, but it's a ballad anyway, so it's likely.

I think the boys are going to be way craftier than that song list. They are going to want to give the appearance of a new Queen album to the mainsteam buyer but also include in it as many existing tracks as possible without completely cheesing of hard core fans. It worked on Made in Heaven, so why not do it again?
So, I think we'll get 3 or 4 "new" Freddie tracks, which might or might not have existed in some way on YouTube up to now, a couple of Freddie/Jacko tracks including There Must Be More To Life Than This, Love Kils, Let Me In Your Heart Again and possibly a few more of the better unreused tracks from Freddie's, Brian's, Roger's and even The Cross's back catalogue. And I included Brian in that because I think it's just possible that we'll hear something more from the Back to the Light album, even though it wasn't actually released until a year after Freddie's death.
