I think someone who took that clip as being homophobic is scouring the archives for homophobic quotes from Queen members thus is probably a little homophobic themselves......

Hot Space is my favorite Queen record (shoot me later), and yes, I'm gay.

If you think ANYTHING Roger said was homophobic then you need to get your head screwed on straight (no pun intended).

Just watch at 5:14. I cannot believe what he said and freddie would be hurt if he heard that. Roger Taylor should be ashamed really...[/QUOTE]

He might not like 'em, but I doubt he's afraid of 'em.

Umm, no.

According to IWTBF, Roger totally is a slutty schoolgirl who likes cleaning in her spare time. I say credible.

If he was homophopbic he wouldn't have played with Freddie for 20 years. Oh, and Adam Lambert now. It was a musical comment. Roger didn't want the band he was in to turn into a dance band. I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted his band to sound like they just came out of a hoe-down in Alabama either.

Last week I was invited to a Thai restaurant. I declined, as I preferred Italian. I guess that's conclusive proof I hate Thai people, and all Asians for that matter, and all non-Italians for that matter.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Threads like this make homophobia seem alright.

I think Jazz is a far gayer album than Hot Space thematically but the rock muscle kind of hides that. Perhaps that's for another thread.

I don't necessarily agree with this statement. Take a look at this youtube video. It's from an Entertainment Tonight interview that was aired in August of 1982 (in fact, I remember seeing the ET cameras at the New Haven concert). Go to 1:25 --- it's pretty obvious that Roger was not particularly thrilled with the latest album:

It sounds like he needed three months, not 30 years to be averse to Hot Space.
