And no one ever really knows the truth from the lies
And you know that the story from Gerry is lie
lie is a lie is a lie right from the start

Rocknrollover: why would i lie eh?
My story was 100% true and quite frankly i dont have to answer to you.
Maybe your so jealous cos you never got to speak to someone like wayne sleep
who was a close buddy to freddie?
Wayne is a really nice guy and went to the same school as me.
He was in Newcastle at the "Eagle Bar" which is a gay bar and had 2 days off
from his tour with the ballet company.
i do not spread bullshit as there is no point in doing that.

Gerry: stop trolling this peaceful place. Your drunken fables are not interesting for anyone.

Oh well i know it is true, your sad if you dont want to share my experiences.
Some of us have had the pleasure of meeting show biz celebs who knew Freddie
and i happen to be one of those lucky people.
i can only say that when i met wayne sleep, he was doing a production
at the Royal Opera House in Newcastle.
He was dressed in a long black coat, the type undertakers wear
and he was very small, but a lovely friendly guy.

We're not really saying you're telling lies or anything. We just ask simple questions and want to get reasonable answers - that's all, and nothing more. If you say it's not lies what you come up with in your posts in this thread, then why ignore my questions? My main question was about how you became a Queen fan in 1972 and what made you become one. I don't think there was anything outrageous and downright inappropriate in my question!!! That very question which I have asked two times in total so far!
Is it some kind of top secret information if all I get is nothing but ignoring instead of a proper answer? If you think that this information may be used against you or something, then I can tell you how I became a Queen fan because, I think, there is nothing I must be scared of, as if someone decides to use it against me it will cause me no harm. But if you don't want others to see it, you can PM me. Deal?
And please NO ignoring the third time around.

This thread is ridiculous.
I became a Queen fan in 2005 because of the diversity of the band and Freddie's voice.

LOSTMAN: Sorry if you think i was ignoring your questions!
i became a Queen fan when i heard "killer Queen"
i just loved the guitar work and freddies voice.
i had seen Queen on Top of the Pops with
"seven seas of rhye" and realised then there was something
awseome about this group.
When i saw freddie again on top of the pops wearing a brown fur coat
and camping it up i instantley connected!
The rest is history.
Oh and i was on the phone talking to Noel Edmonds on his tv show "swap shop"
asking him why Queen were getting ignored!
He said he would try and show a Queen clip later on, and he did a few months later
"spread your wings promo video was shown! result !

Thank you for your answer indeed! But Killer Queen was released in 1974, which means you've been a Queen fan for 39 years now. But thanks anyway.
I became a Queen fan in September 2008 after seeing them perform a huge free gig in my hometown, Kharkiv, with Paul Rodgers. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the show but was watching a live TV broadcast instead, which was later released officially.
I've been a Queen fan for five years but have known the band literally since my birth! All in all, it's been a worthwhile experience.

I became a Queen fan in 2005 also, mostly because I simply liked what I was hearing. There was nothing playing on the radio that sounded like them, so it was nice to hear something different.

I get the feeling people would like to share when they became fans and why (well this is the strangest thread I've seen with it's changes of subject, lol - no offence anyone)...
but mine's an essay...
So i'll just stick to I became a fan in 1975 with Bo Rhap, aged 5, for now....and watch the evolution of the thread :-)
As for Freddie getting punched by that sadistic so and so who called him an 'obvious foreigner,' - that guy sounds like he's still the nasty piece of work that he was back in the day. People like him allowed Freddie to create the masterpiece Bohemian Rhapsody. He may never have created it if he hadn't have had so many experiences of feeling different.
