Hopefully news on a new album, not a Queen tour or any type of re-issues, although some official live dvd's would be o/k?

Not many loyal fans on here, I'm 54 saw my first Queen gig in 1974 , love the music, I really enjoyed the bluesy spin that Paul Rodgers gave to the back catalogue, and to be fair to Adam he is a great showman, no Freddie, but then who is ? Whatever it takes to see Queen live I'm happy. Freddie is gone, I desperately wish he wasn't, but he is, John doesn't wanna know, this is Queen version 2014 get over it people, and look forward to the album with Fred.

examples >>> - i've loved Boston since 1976 - but this last album - ffs (TS might be the driving force in the band - but it's a shambles) >>> how about Sabbath? that last album - Ozzy trying to do that whiny evil sounding crap from 40 years ago.... >>> the current "Now Fuck What" Deep Purple pantomime with autotuned lead vocals >>> van halen's aborted comeback and sh*t album
At least Lizzy saw the significance of carrying on after the leader had gone - they realised and renamed themselves Black Star Riders - Brian and Roger could learn a thing about respect from Scott Gorham. Also there should be something more dignified about stnading on your own reputation rather than constantly milking the reputation of some long-dead cash-cow. Read on:
In October 2012, it was announced that the new material would not be recorded under the Thin Lizzy name, and that a new band name would be used for the new songs. According to Gorham, this was "out of respect to Phil Lynott and the legacy he created", though he confirmed that the new material would feature the classic Thin Lizzy sound. He later confirmed that the decision was taken by himself and Downey, with the support of the other members of the band, and that the Thin Lizzy estate (controlled by Lynott's widow Caroline) had also been uncomfortable about new Thin Lizzy studio recordings. Warwick has acknowledged that a significant portion of Thin Lizzy fans were also against the idea of Thin Lizzy studio recordings without Lynott. He later confirmed that he had been troubled by the idea of using the Thin Lizzy name, and that as a fan, had the band recorded an album under the Thin Lizzy name with another singer, he would have been against it

And why should Brian and Roger follow the herd, they've never shown disrespect to Freddie, they've kept his songs alive for new generations.

So.. What's the announcement, exactly?
brENsKi · Member since
the announcement was that Brian stated:
"Adam Lambert is Freddie's favourite singer to have 'nearly' appeared at Sonisphere"

The only good thing this announcment, if it's indeed a gig at knebworth park again, could bring, is the Release of Knebworth 1986 That would be something great
I wish that happens!!

I wish everyone would get over this. Knebworth ain't gonna happen because it can't. Unless you want a bootleg release audience recording. Jeeeeeeezuuuuuusssss wept.

Awww, crap. I was hoping they'd enlist Tom Chaplin for a while, as he's rumored to be taking a break from Keane.
Crap.

After coming to terms with yet another major disappointment, will the tour be in support of the new album or is it going to be yet another yawn greatest hits show?

I'd blow real money to see Brian and Roger. And if they'd hook up with a great singer who understands the material, that offer would still stand. Unfortunately won't happen, and I'm really sore about that because I seriously cannot see these guys doing live shows for much longer (Roger in particular). It's a fucking waste.
