"So I don't see them ditching Adam for anybody else until it's time to part ways with Adam (plus a decency period)"
Oh I totally get that. But I think the idea of hanging onto AL when there's a better man for the job and Roger totally has his phone number is just absurd, and not decent to Marc at all. I imagine there might've been maybe six months were Brian and Roger were awkwardly having coffee going ... "when do we call Adam? This can't go on". I mean Brian has some experience in awkward break-ups though - it should've been done by now.
"there's no way that the Queen+AL arrangement will produce anything near as good as Blackmore's Knight"
I hate Blackmore's Knight with a passion and find it to be tiresome and naff - and I still agree with you with as much enthusiasm as I can while I'm so heavily medicated.
"i strongly suspect that BM will always be a curmudgeonly embittered and miserable old man who'll die riddled with resentful jealously at the talent of the bandmate who died in 1991"
I choose to believe (and maybe I'm wacko) that he has too much love in him to be completely as you say in this sentence. And I buy that he has (mostly) the right intentions in life. But his music radar went funny a long time ago, and it bears repeating.
"I will pay to see them, I will not pay see yet another interpretation ie. Adam Lambert of Queen songs"
I remember saying I would've paid to see Q+PR just to see Brian and Roger. I think I'd still stand by that - I have virulent hatred for the sound of Paul Rodgers' sleazy voice, but I feel like the others did a better job of getting themselves across during that collaboration.
Pretending that Adam Lambert isn't there for two hours just is not something I'd pay to experience. I don't know how Brian does it; must be denial or something.
