Someonewholikesadam, we know you'll defend Lambert, and hype him up to the ends of the earth - but the general consensus here on QZ is that we just plain don't like him. Why are you trying to change the way we think? You're entitled to like the guy, but because our opinions don't match yours...well that doesn't make us wrong. You say black, we say white. Get over it. Post and post by all means, but constantly banging on about how great he is might be better fitting on an AL forum, which this is not. I know he's touring with "Queen", but that doesn't mean that we welcome it, regardless of your opinions. What we say might be "beyond you", but spamming us with shitty YT clips ain't going to swing the vote. Do you realise you're giving the die-hards fodder to dislike him more? That ain't support - that's killing the guy. Think about it :)

Maybe I am spamming. I like to open debate. And generally piss off people on this board. Not intentionally. Well, maybe just a little. But you cannot speak for ALL members on the forum in saying that EVERYone on the forum dislikes Adam. Maybe 99 percent but, still, that is not ALL. And "shitty" is in the eye of the beholder.

Yep - and you'd know all about shitty :p

fair comment, I know you're just at it to annoy folk. Still not going to change any minds, though......

Btw, I didn't use the words "ALL" or "EVERYone". I said general consensus! Only you saw "ALL" but it wasn't there. That doesn't really surprise me, though - considering you see talent in AL when that's not there, either ;)

Dear Thistleboy Note the number of times you use WE in this post. Me thinks you are speaking for ALL members of the forum without their permission.

@ someonewholikesadam:

I know what I wrote, but where do you see the words ALL or EVERYone? You've even pointed it out for yourself. "we" doesn't mean "all".

You're welcome.

It's no point trying to talk sense with a groupie. Obsession and reason tend not to exist in the same person at the same time.

If you want to argue with yourself , then take it somewhere else...and save non-schizos the labour of trying to reason with you "all"

Christ on a f*cking bike!!!!
You're beyond sense.

Personally just as with Paul Rodgers I will happily go see them if they play live in the UK, for me it's all about seeing Brian and Roger, i am less fussed about who sings, personally I liked Rodgers a lot, he did a great job of getting them out of there houses and on stage, I like Cosmos Rocks too.

Not yet heard Lambert live so it will be interesting, I do see what they (the band) say about him, it's hard to honestly say he can't handle there songs because from what I've seen he does a pretty impressive job. He's certainly more in the same vibe as Freddie, but maybe not as good at moving from camp to rock.

I wonder what people would say if it was Freddie just starting out? from what i read here Lambert gets much of the same comments that Freddie did before it was cool to love him. Back in the seventies and eighties Freddie was generally hated by most rock fans, it was only after his death (when many here joined the Queen community) that he became cool.

Queen spent much of their professional life fending off comments about Freddie, lots secretly liked his voice, but were unlikely to admit it because he was far too out there for most people who in the late seventies were into heavy rock, or in the eighties saying they suddenly had been punk fans all along...

Queen have always poked people with a sharp stick and tried to test them, I don't really see this any different, the guy can sing, he's camp, he's showbiz... That's pretty close to Freddie really, and as with Rodgers before if he gets them out so I can go see them play live I'm all for it.

I can't be fucked reading 5 pages of comments...could someone just summarise what the announcement in one sentence and not include an opinion on the actual announcement, just the facts......ta very much lol

Well, IMO, YMMV, and all that crap - but Adam Lambert has always impressed me as being a self-serving sort of singer.

lol - Queen tour with Adam Lambert next year. Official news. I had an idea slightly before the announcement because I know someone who works at the Hydro in Glasgow who phoned me to say they had been enquiring about the venue for 2014.

Any resemblance (if there is any) between Freddie and AL is purely superficial. Freddie was the genuine article; AL, a so-so imitator. AL cannot sing rock. He has neither the rough sexy voice nor the attitude for it. Definitely cannot be compared to Freddie. Freddie could go from 'White Queen' to 'Death on two legs' effortlessly.

Magic, that's how painless this whole experience can be.....I asked a question and got the facts and nothing but the facts, no opinion, conjecture, just the facts.......mind you I wont be going to see them at the Hydro as Adam is a complete and utter.......
