Oh, you meant Adam SINGING covers! Not when he's fronting for Queen and singing Queen's original music, correct? You mean like when he throws one or two in during a concert of his own original material, like pretty much every other artist/band does, right?
BTW, I highly recommend you watch the Kennedy Honors 2012 program where Heart covered Stairway to Heaven to honor Led Zepplin - now *that* was one of the best covers I've ever heard. Still, I guess they've had a lot of practice - apparently Heart covers a lot of LZ on their concerts, which is weird, isn't it, considering how much original material they have? Huh, weird. I wonder why they do that?
But back to Adam's covers (this isn't about Heart, right?). So you don't mean Queen+AL when you're talking about Adam singing covers then. I'm so confused about this whole issue.
Despite that confusion (and I'm sure you'll clear that up eventually), I sure am glad that Adam has a cool guest star gig on Glee, that he's written and performed with Avicii, and collaborated with Nile Rogers (hey, did you hear Nile say Adam is welcome to front Chic anytime! How cool is that?!). Oh and of course it's pretty cool that he's working on his 3rd album, has a Billboard #1 with his second album, has sold platinum of album #1 around the world, with single sales > 4 million units.
And it's really cool that he made $5 million last year while doing less than 30 gigs. He barely made more - $6 Million - when he did >120 gigs during his first era, but of course the era 2 venues were a lot bigger and most sold out. Cool, right, especially when they were such high-revenue spots around the world. It's nice that the foreigners are so willing to give up their apples and squirrel skins to a poor karaoke cover singer like Adam, isn't it? It's nice to know he's appreciated, even if they are places that are far, far away from me. Dang, I didn't get to attend one of those events in Asia or Eastern Europe, or the UK - no fair!
Still, it's pretty cool that he made almost $2 million in-between those two eras, while he was recording album 2. Wow, that's $12.5 million in 3 years for a karaoke cover singer! Who knew those guys could make that kind of money? Not me, that's for sure!
And now of course he's recording his third album, working with Max Martin and co. in Sweden. I'm sure you know more than I, given your extensive knowledge of the music industry, but I hear that's a pretty big coup, right?
And of course there's his collaboration with Queen on the upcoming arena tour, where most venues are already sold out, and apparently new dates are being added, effective tomorrow. That's pretty cool, too.

No, I know you didn't say anything about Brian and Roger doing covers of Queen, but that's the logical conclusion of your argument, so you're sort of stuck with it. Because you can't separate out Adam from Queen, since they're billed as Queen + Adam Lambert, right? So it's Adam fronting Queen, doing Queen's music. If Adam's covering Queen, so is Queen covering Queen. If Queen isn't covering Queen, then neither is Adam, as the band's frontman. Ipso facto.
