1. I think most artists would absolutely take roles on stage and screen projects if they were interested in acting as well as singing. Sting, David Byrne and Adam Levine are just three of many, many examples. And Ryan Murphy doesn't just produce Glee - he's got American Horror Story, and no doubt another show waiting in the wings for when Glee ends. Adam has gotten rave reviews from the media for his role on this show, regardless of the declining state of the show itself. I'll bet you he shows up on another of RM's shows or elsewhere in the not too distant future (probably after his 3rd album drops).
2. Glee is a television show about people singing covers, so yeah, of course I feel fantastic about it. I don't have the obsession you have with actors covering songs on a tv show, nor with artists covering songs in their own concerts. It's about as normal as it can be for everyone.
3. I hope Queen puts out new material with Freddie, too. Until then, I'm thrilled that Brian and Roger have chosen Adam as their frontman for this tour. It's a real honor that such legendary artists hold him and his talent in such high regard.
1. Can you picture Sting and the rest of the people in your post on Glee? I can't.
2. I've watched most shows of Glee recently, it used to be good, but not so much anymore without Finn IMO.
3. I'm not obsessed, surely you can tell the difference between discussing and obsession on any topic.
4. There you go speaking like a spokesperson again.
5. I know Queen is legendary. Brian and Roger sing AL's praises, does not mean I have to think he is a good fit for them.
1. Have you actually ever seen Sting's role in Dune? Now that was campy comedy. Apparently you missed that role of cheese.
2. I don't care what you think of Glee and Finn. I don't care that Glee is going downhill. All I care about is that Adam has been lauded by RM and the media for his role, has gotten a good paycheck out of it, and plenty of exposure to both a great demographic of viewers and a whole bunch of other producers of movies and tv. His mgmt. says he now has a lot of offers on the table - and yup, that's what I care about. I hope he takes whichever ones he wants, and discards what he doesn't want - as I'm sure he'll do, since he appears to be a business savvy and self-aware human being.
3. I do recognize the difference between obsession and simple discussion. Clearly you're obsessed, because anyone tuned into the entertainment industry would know that virtually all artists do covers - including Queen. You seem to think it's an extremely strange thing and can't seem to get past it. To me that's obsession.
4. I'm a fan of Adam and his talent, so again, while you seem to think saying positive things about an artist you like is unusual, I see it as completely logical. On the other hand to obsess about someone you don't like seems completely irrational to me. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
5. I don't care what you think of Adam and his role as frontman for Queen. Why should I? You don't go to the concerts, so from an economic stand-point you are irrelevant to the success of this tour. I only care that Brian and Roger want him in this role, that Adam's on-board with the plan, and that the arenas are selling out and adding on. That spells success to me.
Yes, I've seen Dune. I didn't like it at all.
I think many AL fans want to see the guy everywhere possible, in the hopes he will hit the big time and get more fans, that's basically it with Q+AL.
I realise Queen has done covers. I've never stated they didn't. And believe it or not, I like AL. I don't like everything to do with him, so sue me. I don't like everything about Queen, so by your way of thinking I don't like Queen as well. Yup, I've pretended to be a Queen fan for over 2 decades now.
You had thousands of posts over at QOL, rarely a mention of Queen with Freddie. Rarely a mention of Brian and Roger, unless it included AL as the singer. obsession, trolls, hate and homophobia, the only 4 cards many Glamberts have to play, and time and time again.
I cant attend a show, but I still have the right to express my thoughts on it. I hope the tour goes smoothly for the band/fans/everyone involved with it. I hope things have improved since the other Q+AL shows.

1. Loved the books, hated the movies.
2. I think you missed a few things. Like Adam making $12.5 million in his first three years off Idol. And having a Billboard #1 hit. And writing with the global superstar Avicii (writing credits garner the lion's share of song royalties). And a significant guest role on Glee - which is a big coup for a musician without previous on-screen acting credentials. And fronting for Queen to sold-out and adding-on arenas. These things are pretty good signs that he's already made it. People who like him are happy that he has and enjoy all his projects. It's not rocket science.
3. Let's just pass over the whole 'you are a fan of Adam' part, shall we? And for the record, I don't care that you're not. In fact I really am glad you're not. Believe me, I'm not in the least interested in converting you. Au contraire...
4. Most of this is irrelevant because it has nothing to do with me, although I of course agree you have the right to give your opinion whenever and however you like. Just like me.
P.S.
You should delete the first two copies of your original post above. Not that I mind you publicizing my posts in duplicate (thank you taptap spokesperson!), but you missed getting your own comments attached to either of them.

Hey, we agree on the books. I enjoyed that more than the film. Been awhile since I've read the books TBH.
It's not all about the money with me that AL earns. I'm sure he has enough money not to worry for a while yet.
It was a guest role on Glee, even though some thought he would be the one and only to save the show, boost the ratings. Hasn't happened.
Why do you feel the need/want in saying I'm not an AL fan? Quite simply you were wrong then as you are now. I don't look at any celeb the same way I did when I first became a fan. I'm no step ford of AL, but I'm a fan. If my own word to you isn't good enough, nothing will be. If you don't think I'm a fan, no biggie. I honestly wouldn't lower myself to branding people as trolls, haters, and homophobes as so many as his fans do at the drop of a hat.
Yes, again I cannot attend a show. If I went and I didn't like it, what would be said about that?
It's clear to me here you, sweetcaroline, someonewholikesadam want people here and elsewhere to love the guy. Posting video upon video, articles upon articles in the hopes of him getting more fans.
Why take offense on his behalf, why post like a wannabe spokesperson? It's not helping him.
I've never said you weren't entitled to give your take on things. Ever. I'm here giving mine, if it's ok with you, not that you have to give your permission.

The fans don't have anything to do with Adam fronting Queen - Brian and Roger do, so I fixed it for you. The fans are just along for the ride and are enjoying the hell out of it.
Of course I disagree that Brian and Roger are goats or sheep, and don't know what they're doing, but to each their own.

1. I read the series when I was in college and re-read them a few years ago.
2. I don't care about the money, although I'm sure Adam is glad to have it. I'm just happy when he gets to do the things that interest him. He seems very happy with all these projects and also appears to have a lot of new opportunities arising from his recent activities. That means success to me. The money is definitely icing on the cake, though.
3. I've never heard any fan say they thought Adam would boost the ratings on Glee. In fact you're the only one I've ever heard say that. The fans I've heard were just thrilled he was getting an acting opportunity in front of that particular demographic. Regardless of how Glee does in the end (and obviously it's going down fast, since they're already planned the end and are only going through the motions in season 6 in order to get it into syndication), Adam did what he needed to do - gained exposure, future opportunities, and a good paycheck.
4. Exactly - it's no biggie if I don't think you're a fan, it's just my opinion. Carry on with your stanning of him as you define it.
5. Good for you! It's odd that, like covers, this whole thing about trolls, haters and homophobes seems to be an obsession with you. Shakespeare had a great line for that in Hamlet - The lady doth protest too much.
6. I'm quite sure there will be people who attend a QAL concert and don't like something about it. I couldn't care less. The money will be in QAL's pockets, the media circus is assured, and both Queen and AL will no doubt gain new fans from among those who enjoy the show. Again, you as one person are irrelevant (even more so since you're not attending).
7. Of course Caroline and SOWLA and I like Adam. Duh - we're fans. That's sort of the definition of the word.
8. I don't take offense. I don't care that you don't like him. I don't care that rocknrollover doesn't like him. But we'll have to disagree that having fans doesn't help an artist, as it clearly does. QAL couldn't fill all those arenas without excited fans. Quid Quo Pro - they bring the talent, we open our wallets, everybody's happy.
9. I think that's already been covered above.
The reason so few people converse with you is that you keep bringing up the same things over and over and that stalls out any real conversation. There's only so many times you can give the same answer to the same question without becoming bored. Sorry but it's true.

That's better. Now at least it's easier to understand that it's not Adam you dislike but rather his fans. Don't worry, don't worry, I still get that you don't like Adam, either! I'm fine with both parts of that equation, although it seems a tedious waste of time on your part. I prefer to focus on the positive, but not everyone does. And yes, I'm an enthusiastic fan of the QAL collaboration.

"I hope the tour goes smoothly for the band/fans/everyone involved with it. I hope things have improved since the other Q+AL shows."
There's always room for improvement in anything, icy, but I will be THRILLED if the shows in this tour are as amazing and well accepted as the six 2012 shows in Europe and London were!

I've got tickets on both the east coast and to the west, but believe me, I was torn wondering which venue and timeframe would perhaps be a zenith in their performance. Would it be the last one? Some middle one? A completely unexpected venue, like Houston or Winnipeg?
There's some speculation that the reason they chose two back-to-back nights at The Joint in Vegas is that it's a good venue for shooting a DVD. If they wear the same clothes both nights, it's probably quite likely, as the videographers could then splice and edit material from both events for the best shots.
I sort of agree about the small venue - it makes for easier, close-up camera shots, etc. On the other hand, a huge arena like MSG can be a very good choice, too, as you'll get a lot of energy from a crowd of that size.
I don't know which one it will be, if any, but if there's an official DVD I'll be buying it. If these concerts are anything like Adam's, there will be fan-shot, full concert videos up within hours of each event. Some of those fans have gotten very good and being in the right place for good audio and visual, so we'll be able to see and hear them all long before an official DVD hits the market.

1. I think Jimi would actually be in awe of much of Prince Rogers Nelson's work. He'd take the tongue in cheek purple house as a tribute
2. I don't like Adam Lambert either. "His music" (or the music written to be performed by Adam Lambert) is girlish top 40 Disney channel style pop. It is artifice and ordinary and crap
3. He DOES however have an incredible *note range. This doesn't mean he can deliver the goods in a ROCK show.
4. Brian and Roger seem to think it's a fitting end to grab a popular entertainer THAT IS GAY to promote the band AND promote the mercury Phoenix trust as well.
It would also achieve another 5 years of recognition for all the teeny boppers who seem to like Lambert
5. I'm going to a gig on this tour because it'll likely be the last time they perform in the states
6. He is a lucky s.o.b.
.... that is THE "dream gig"
Fronting Queen.
Even if he doesn't have anything near the power command of Freddie.

I want a DVD, too--and I don't care where it will be shot. I'm going to Chicago (the first night) and thought maybe that would not be a good choice because they haven't worked out any glitches, but in my experience sometimes the first night is very exciting because the adrenaline is really flowing for the performers. Then I'm going a month later to the Detroit show. I would love to have included a vacation trip either to NYC or Vegas but it isn't in the cards for me this year. I am overdue for a trip to Vegas (only trip there was in 2003) and I've never been to The Big Apple!
