Adam Lambert: American singer-songwriter and stage actor (Wikipedia).

Gravitas: high seriousness, as in a person's bearing or in the treatment of a subject (Merriam Webster).

Examples of GRAVITAS

The new leader has an air of gravitas that commands respect.

An actor who lacks the gravitas for dramatic roles.

Sheep: a person who is too easily influenced or led.

The "I love Adam" brigade that's invaded recently is cracking me up. Using Purple Haze as an example of his "talent" is priceless." If Jimi Hendrix were alive, he'd be on death row as he'd murder AL for murdering Purple Haze. He's a lightweight at absolute best, a lovely voice but a horrible interpreter. He can memorize the notes, and sing the notes, but he can't make them sing. There may be less than a handful of people in the rock world who have a better voice/technique (questionable as his trill is uncoached and annoying) than Adam Lambert. There are thousands of better singers than him. How his fans don't see that is baffling/concerning to me.

Adam is still a far more talented singer than Justin Bieber or some of the top 40 acts whose idea of "epic" is a cliched overuse of whoa-whoa choruses.

I love posts that make me laugh out loud. And that one just did. You are quite amusing.

But if you are talking about me, sometimes I post the videos ie. Purple Haze, to show how over the top Adam is. And I LOVE that about him. He has a great voice. But more than that, he is REALLY fun to watch live. For me anyway.

Agree 100%. Low standard of who should have the honour, and I mean honour, of fronting Queen.

and Hendrix would be pretty unnerved at Prince for covering Red House as Purple House

Now the thing that should have had Jimi really rolling over in his grave was The Cure covering Purple Haze and just about turning it into a rap song..........

I think The Cure have some decent songs, from what little I have heard of them (Pictures of You and Just Like Heaven...).......but that was atrocious..........

I am kinda suprised by the sheer vehemence of the Adam haters here.........
I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye

The thing that gets me is that Brian and Roger are utterly convinced that they are honouring Freddie and the band's work by doing all of this. I dug the Paul Rodgers thing because there was a combined history of greatness there but when the ALBUM failed it told me that there was absolutely no way that Brian and Roger can collaborate successfully under the Queen banner without resorting to cliche and cheese.

I think all opinions here are quite frankly right. To some, Adam does sound like a goat, or as my brother would say, a sick
hog in a hailstorm. To others, he sounds just as powerful as in rocker ever could. Brian, Roger and Adam are a team which
felt good to them in Las Vegas. They will then take that "synergy" on the road for what will probably be this last tour for B&R.

I am cheering for their success. Here's to good health and strength for Brian AND Roger and Adam before, during and after this tour!

Wow! I seriously hope you mean that tongue in cheek - although with the amount of AL videos you have posted on this site, I very much doubt it.
Some of AL's superfans have made this entire AL worship like some kind of cult. You do realise it is just music, right? Some of us will enjoy this and some of us will enjoy that. But in the end it is just music.
I'd rather listen to Freddie singing than go on AL sites and add comments and videos on every post that mentions Freddie or Queen. I wonder what Adam thinks of it all. He comes across as a very decent guy in his interviews and such. I do not think he comes even close to Freddie as a frontman for Queen, but again, that is just my opinion about their music. Brian, Roger and AL put on a fairly decent and entertaining show, but that is about it. Nothing at all like Queen with Freddie. But again, as I said, it is just music. So just lighten up on the AL promotion, and enjoy listening to him sing if that is your thing.

Agree mostly with noorie. I'll never understand why some and most of the AL fans I've seen must promote the guy so much.
I'm sure when Q+AL is over with, some AL fans will be bitter to Brian and Roger. It's that way with Avicii, because a certain single with a certain someone wasn't released.

Keep clinging to the hope that all the celebs that praise him, and that your promotion of him here, that everyone will fall instantly in love with him and will further his career. I think both of that is wanted most by his most of his fans.
