Lambert is nothing more than a karaoke singer. May and Taylor chose him because he had a high profile in the usa which would in turn raise their own profile and help them sell more copies of Greatest Hits in america.

SWLA, here's to you!!! I enjoyed reading your response! Although I really don't find AL sexy at all! (And I am no homophobe cause I loove Freddie, as do most QZoners.) Adam's image really seems a bit too 'staged' to me - not really genuine. In that respect Freddie was the totally genuine article.
My opinion of Adam Lambert has not changed - image-wise, nor about his singing ability, but I totally appreciate your feelings.
My opinion is closer to Dr. Magus'. Sorry. But to each his own! Have fun at the AL shows!

Dee Snider from Twisted Sister - always had him in the back of my mind as a guy who could've pulled off a couple of Queen (rock) songs (maybe not these days, though).
