I love most of the bands material apart from "Mother Love"
which was very depressing and i wish Brian and Roger had gave Freddie something more happier to sing before he passed away!
So what is your most hated Queen ditty?

Get Down, Make love. Awful. And the others guys agreed on recording that and even played it live.

I find the choice of Mother Love baffling...especially when you consider the plethora of options available from Hot Space right thru' to The Miracle - there's almost 3 albums' worth of filler and detritus to choose from there.

and the reasoning is also a little contradictory - who expects a dying man to sing upbeat/happy songs? ...but even forgetting that, Freddie wrote/sang some of Queen's most maudlin/depressing/sad songs - some much more forlorn than Mother Love
ie
You Take my Breath Away
Love of My Life
nevermore
Lily of the Valley
My Melancholy Blues

Mother Love is is good company...all good songs

for me - i'd thrown in some HS/Works shite - Tear It Up will do
go deo na hÉireann The best QZ epoch: BG17-00 (Before Gerry 1996-2013)

For me it's currently the debacle of There Must Be More To Life Than This

Assuming Body Language is a given I would say In Only Seven Days, Mustapha, You Take My Breath Away, Delilah.... it goes on

Brenski: i am very surprised you think "Love of my life" "Lily of the valley" "My melancholy blues" "nevermore" as hated songs, they are for me
Freddie at his sweetest. Again yes Freddie was dying and so the other guys could have cheered him up or at least raised his spirits a little with a better
song than "Mother Love" it is absolute trash even though Freds vocals were amazing it has to be said.

But, I thought you stated that Fred was the leader and according to your Goggle search he was the best by a mile.

If he was so great why would he rely on BM and RT (the desperate ones that Fred gave fame to....) to come up with songs for him?

Once again your grandma is top-notch - as well as your mind-set (yawn)

And again!!!!
Brenski never said they were hated. He said they were sad songs. Try to read what was actually written and maybe expand your vocabulary. look up forlorn, maudlin etc....

I guess it goes to show how divergent opinions on this question are, but I like all of those songs except for Delilah!! In fact, it would be my guess that if we had a poll, Delilah would be in the top (bottom?) spot, or close to it..........

Trying to think of other songs I dont like.......its funny how many Queen songs there are that I did not like at first, but have grown to like over the years........I'd say Delilah, One Year Of Love, and She Makes Me are the ones I always skip, though..........

and, gerry, what is so bad about Mother Love, aside from how sad of a song it is?? Sad doesnt necessarily equal bad...........one of my favorite Queen songs is '39, and thats not exactly uplifting!

The Loser in the End.

Specially because they included it in Queen II.
Queen: Roger Taylor, Mike Grose, Freddie Mercury, Brian May.

Ludwigs: Freddie wrote many Queen songs that kick started the band to fame and fortune, your Queen knowledge is lacking mate.
Look at "Seven seas of Rhye" "Killer Queen" "Bohemian Rhapsody" " Somebody to love" need i go on, Freddie was hardly a man who needed songs written by May & Taylor.
i never googled anything, fact Freddie will always be the main reason many fans around the world latched on to Queen.

yes but my valid point here is that Freddies songs got the group to be a household name.
Sure the other 3 guys in the band had hits much later on in there career, but it was Freddie
who put the Queen foundation stamp on the bands career and got the public very interested in them.
