i know "invisible man" has a stunning guitar solo from Brian but the rest of the song is limp!
For me "Scandal" drones on and on .......... "Rain must fall" has some good backing vocals and fun guitar playing![/QUOTE]

You got some weird taste if you pick Rain Must Fall over the other tracks on The Miracle. But that's okay I guess, everyone has a different taste.

I'm not a massive fan of The Invisible Man, but I can understand why it was released as a single - catchy pop single, fun theme, fairly different for Queen, and quite suited to the lighter side of the pop charts at that time.

RMF, tIM, and Breakthru are among my top 20 favorite Queen songs. Why? Maybe it is the bass? I also love the percussion in RMF.  Do I need a reason?

I also agree with Gerry that Scandal drones on and on ... with a two syllable vocal melody and a four note  guitar melody.  Only the 12" single gives the song some life.

Too many QZ'ers have a love/hate relationship with Gerry. They hate his posts, but love to bait him into making more posts they dislike.

It's an abusive relationship haha.

Could somebody who dislikes Scandal explain to me why? I've always liked it a lot - Freddie delivers it with more conviction than in most of Queen's music of the time, and the guitar parts are really tight.

Invisible Man is no work of art, but it's good fun, and a worthwhile listen just for that solo, completely out of character for Brian.

I'm struggling to understand the absolutely massive campaign for Scandal. Yes, it's a 'good' song with a worthwhile and meaningful lyric, but an odd single choice; it does 'plod' somewhat, and always seems quite 'sterile' feelwise to me. As a UK single release, Was It a all Worth It or even Rain Must Fall may have been better choices. Scandal does have a great vocal and some superb guitar work, but then again, what a Queen track doesnt?!?

Scandal does also share some quite significant similarities with Anita Dobson's 'Talking of Love', which may taint my thoughts!!

Perhaps their desire for the sentiment to be heard by the media was an influence in their making it a single.

Its a pity a track called "I guess were falling out" never got released as a single as it was ideal Chart Material and in the same mould as "Its a hard life"
