In the topic I mention here, Greg Brooks wrote:
"A Queen BBC session, containing a mega rare item no-one knows exists.. including us until 2 years ago. We just paid a fan for that. "

Even that is NOT included in this set.

This release is utter crap. And that's me being gentle about it.

Wonder what that was

Interview? Oh, don't be ridiculous.

I suggest that every Queen fan with a twitter account tweets this: Freddie mercury's words about the new Queen release aimed at die-hard fans: "Interview? Oh don't be ridiculous!"
It sums up what we have here in this release nicely!

After a couple of hours of anger I'm still boiling. A band of the magnitude of Queen trying to rip off their fans... This is such a disgrace. I'm deeply disappointed.

I might even write an open letter to Brian. With all I have to say it may end up as an open book!!

I guess no one's forcing anyone to buy this, are they as the usual situation stands for anything QPL releases these days. If nothing else, then the complete BBC Sessions will be available on the 2cd set which I will get if the mixing and mastering are any good and there's no 'tweaking' involved which I highly doubt.

What I WILL do is download the Deluxe set as soon as it is available on a torrent site and cherry-pick the bits that I want.

How on earth have QPL seen that this is even remotely close to what constitutes 'complete' when they release incomplete (and presumably within that, edited and tweaked) versions of concerts? Another Brian may live solo and no Tutti Frutti from Mannheim which was the highlight of the evening.

Oh shit QPL, all that crap again????

Instead of pretending to offer a "deluxe" box to their fans they should have just released to the 2 disc complete BBC session version. Now they just make blatantly clear they don't give a f*** about their die-hard fans. If that's the case, just be honest about it!

Question: can they have remixed anything from the BBC Sessions? Do they have any multitracks? Or will it just be the audio we've already heard, but compressed?

Quality control (thanks, Bob, I just noted the '1982' interview date...)

But......I am really, really excited to finally get an official release of 'Alright Alright' !!!!!!!!!

Judging by the fact that they re-worked one of the session 2 tracks for the Queen II remaster in 2011, I'd say they've got at least some of the 24 track tapes lying around.

But then the stuff from sessions 4 and 6 was basically what we'd heard for years prior.

We'll know soon enough.

I wonder if Freddie is audible on the Golders Green recording.

Could it be that the initial idea was to have each butchered concert in a separate CD, "completed" by interviews, and then someone had the fantastic idea to squeeze them even further to fill one full CD with live music and to use HALF of the number the CDs in the box for interviews? OMG... I just cannot figure out how this came to be...

Cheers,

I don't have any cds of radio interviews in my collection. Have any been released before in their 45 year old history ? I think I may have had a tape once
I've watched Queen documentaries, got some Queen books but no interview cds.
And it ties in with the On Air concept
Well done QPL
