Same as the 1997 Flix DVD I used, letterboxed 4:3 meaning ultimately 16:9 except for the middle pillarbox bit.

Re:1997 Promo DVD.
Some of the content is 4:3 fullscreen, some is 4:3 letterbox and a few parts are 4:3 pillarbox.
Some of the content morphs from 4:3 letterbox to 4:3 fullscreen.
It's a 4:3 disc edited for 4:3 screens.

Are we talking about I Want It All or all the videos on the DVD? I just checked IWIA again and my comment above still applies to it. Pretty much nothing was lost by me cropping it to 16:9 and introducing a little pillarboxing so that I don't crop too much to fill the 16:9 frame. The only bit that I messed up was the Brian & Frieddie B&W bit, which I already apologized for. Other than that the IWIA video is perfectly good in 16:9.
If you meant the disc as a whole and all the promos on it, obviously the majority of the content is 4:3 and some of the stuff like It's A Hard Life is 16:10.

Watch Radio Ga Ga.
You should have fun with that one.

Will see what's the best approach to Gaga. Right now I'm not planning it.

thanks for having me made this clear!
Have you already compared this promo dvd with Queen Rocks and/or Greatest Karaoke Hits?

I don't have Queen Rocks DVD but I asked around. The karaoke DVD won't do cos of the burned in lyrics appearing on the screen.

you're right about the karaoke dvd

Judging from the screens it looks okay but the 1997 Flix is still better.

Queen rocks was also released on Laserdisc (NTSC) in Japan.

Update, see OP.
Might take a break for now mainly cos of the time this takes due to my 2008-ish setup with dual core and 2 GB RAM which makes me render in several passes uncompressed and it's a mess. Anyway, enjoy.
