^ But the 2 CD set. It's only 10 GBP. I think this alternative with or without DJ chat is quite exciting.
It seems to me they didn't include the complete GGH concert for copyright reasons with Bama Lama Bama Loo (the same cause with Rainbow March'74 concert) and distortion on SWAFIB.
Now, I'm sorry, but if that's official, the fuckers should have given us free access codes to that with the extortionate vinyl set, not yet another shitty mp3 option.
Led Zep gave free 96k access codes with their super deluxe boxsets.....
Are these likely to be proper HI Res though?
I've heard that a lot of HI Res stuff on HD Tracks are just up-res'ed from the CDs....

The DJ chatter on the deluxe version annoys me! And why on earth they released different versions of the tracks?! I prefer just the songs with no chatter!
And THAT is why the 2CD set doesn't contain the chatter.
I'm sorry, but I WANT the DJ chatter: it adds a whole new dimension to the recordings.
I've loved the chatter on the Session 5 bootleg we've had for years and now I get to hear more from the others.
I think it's bloody marvellous that QPL have actually GIVEN us something that we never dreamed of in a million years, so let's not moan about it!
A simple solution here is this:
None of us are idiots and I'm sure everyone here is capable of editing it off the songs and burning their own discs if they don't want to spend even more money on the 2 disc set.
Either that or find a download somewhere....

- The mixes all seem to be the original stereo mixes that appeared on the original broadcasts. See What A Fool I've Been is not the 2011 remix, but rather the original mix aired on BBC radio. .
Since QPL didn't want to advertise the difference between the 2 CD set and the boxset (ie DJ banter), I wonder if they went as far as remastering the sessions for the 2CD set in the same way they did with the 2011 versions?
Now THAT would be another reason to get the 2CD set.
What? You don't think they have?
Well I suppose you're right - that's too much hard work...

None of the tracks sound like See What A Fool I've Been 2011 remix.

Do you remember that tracks are Tutti Frutti and Gimme some lovin' , were released on Queen Live at Wembley. DVD and CD. After many times were re-released and these tracks were there.
And then why-that was not a question of copyright.

I think the same too! They could have excluded Father to Son also because it sounds awful!
By the way, are we exactly sure Bama Lama Bama Loo was performed on the Rainbow March'74 concert?

I bought both the vinyl at £50 and the CD set at £33.
VINYL
Positives:
Sounds fucking brilliant! Really, really excellent quality audio. Has breathed a new life into some of the tracks, and it's really exciting to finally have all this officially released. Sessions 4, 5 and 6 are absolutely stunning.
Artwork - simple, yet eye catching. Some great pictures inside and lovely idea seeing the reels and cue-sheets etc.
Download code. Yes, it's the norm, but just glad they remembered. Not everyone will buy the CD!
Negatives:
No DJ talk between tracks like on the CD version.
No MOTBQ. I don't care that it was the studio version - it was aired, and thus makes the set incomplete.
No booklet. This could easily have been included.
Quality of the packaging: 3x 180g LPs stuffed into a delicate tri-fold sleeve meant that the cover already has ringwear, as do the inners. There is absolutely no give in the dimensions, meaning vinyl is difficult to remove and put back in without sweating that you'll rip the cover.
The price. £50 is a lot, considering basics like a booklet are missing! Could have been better quality packaging for the price.
CD
Positives:
As per the vinyl, i.e sound quality and artwork BUT also happy with the addition of DJ chat in between tracks.
The inclusion of Golders Green in great quality.
Some great interviews.
Informative booklet.
Negatives:
Although happy with the DJ chat, it's heavily cut and seems disjointed from the tracks themselves. Almost no flow - it loses the feel of a broadcast.
No MOTBQ.
Incomplete Golders Green and pointless bits and bobs from other shows. And what's with the stupid radio frequency noises between shows? I know it's as though we're changing stations and landing on another Queen show, but just....why? They could've made it sound like one full show, through time like "Rare Live" (flaws on that not up for discussion here lol).
Packaging - very flimsy and all card sleeves already have ringwear.
Summary
Overall, happy with the audio and BBC sessions. But a wasted opportunity for a much better release.
Hmmmm.

That translation makes it sound like tracks 9-12 weren't remastered. Looking at the Japanese info on the Onkyo site, all tracks were remastered to 96 kHz / 24 bit; tracks 9-12 used a digital 48 kHz / 16 bit master copy as a source, and all other tracks were sourced from an analogue 1/4 inch master tape.

So, Session 3 is sourced from a 48kHz / 16bit master tape, and the rest is actually at 96kHz / 24bit.
Hmm, interesting info that QPL never would give us, and interesting files that QPL would never sell us (:

Wonder if the source is Brian's own home recording?
