I too would like to know exactly what unofficial recordings of session 2 and 4 sound better.

I don't have the greatest ear, nor the technical knowledge to articulate why I find the official release better - but I definitely noticed a huge difference in quality. The official release is amazing sound-wise: much clearer, subtly louder and brings out pieces I may have missed on the bootlegs. As I say, breathed a new life into it for me. Don't know why Pittrek is so unhappy with it.

Why is Pittrek unhappy?
Well, he too noticed the muddy sound quality of Session 3.

if this has the original mixes and not the pitch-corrected ones done in 2011, i might get the 2cd set.

^ But the 2 CD set. It's only 10 GBP. I think this alternative with or without DJ chat is quite exciting.
It seems to me they didn't include the complete GGH concert for copyright reasons with Bama Lama Bama Loo (the same cause with Rainbow March'74 concert) and distortion on SWAFIB.
Do you remember that tracks are Tutti Frutti and Gimme some lovin' , were released on Queen Live at Wembley. DVD and CD. After many times were re-released and these tracks were there.
And then why-that was not a question of copyright.
It's all to do with who holds the copyright for the song and how much they want to charge an act to be able to include it on a release. For example, on the recent Oasis "Be Here Now" Deluxe release, there's a cover of The Beatles song "Help." But what's not included is a cover they actually released back in 1997 of The Rolling Stones "Street Fighting Man." Apparently, whoever controls the rights to MIck and Keith's songs wanted too high a fee for Oasis to include it in the release. Not sure if that is definitely the case with "Queen On Air" or not; but it could be.

I believe Golders Green 73 will be released in the future in its full. Maybe minus See What A Fool I've Been but it will be released with Big Spender and Bama Lama Bama Loo.

Is the On Air release of Golders Green really the best around? This sounds pretty good.

^ QOA sounds like a cleaner copy, alternatively cleaned up in Pro Tools. It has also been remastered with a quite nice EQ balance IMO.

Hi,

Has anybody seen promo material from the new Queen on Air release?

My local record dealer gave me a couple of great Promo Posters:

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/112202274186?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

I am selling one on eBay but i would like to swap it for different promo materials from Queen on Air.

Does anyone has some more promo items? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Greg, I think you overestimated the gullibility of most fans.

Out of loyalty to a local record shop, I bought the 2 disc set for $24, instead of the approx. $19 on line offerings. Adding the Deep Cuts version of TMOTBQ to 'complete' the set, I am thrilled. I no longer have to listen to the crappy youtube versions I converted eons ago.

For only double the price, I could have had the 6 disc box set. I passed.

I would have gladly paid $29 for a 3 disc set, with the complete Golders Green concert as the third disc.

Just thought you'd like to know. As is, I'll continue to listen to what I converted from youtube of that concert, above to very good quality.
