Alternate version are valuable only if they are original, generated in the collective process of creation years ago.
If Jimbo "the tech guy" made this mixes in 2017, then their value is limited to pure curiosity.

Another example by King Crimson on how to do it right.
Far too many comments to go through, but my thoughts:
1. I predicted the 1982 material in a dream. Dunno what thread.
2. A GOOD smattering of rarities and those alternate versions will be interesting, even if they aren't for multiple listens.
3. Live SOTS? Wasn't that 'worth the price' alone?
4. BBC material and FF - if it wasn't included we'd probably be angry too
5. some track times on the raw disc are intriguing!
6. The doc being an hour long - if it was released in 1977 it would probably have been less than that. We know there's a lot of raw material but that doc making innit? If they include all the stuff we've seen, great. If they don't, then I'm sure someone here will add it all in.
7. Full Houston: We've all got it - perhaps it WILL come out (as we've seen with QP do before with shows they've reviewed for released) but the included material serves it's purpose within the release so fair enough. Versions of non album material wouldn't serve the release.
8. The price: I'm sure we'll all get hold of it at something satisfactory.

Interesting, so "It's Late" Single Version was remastered in 2011? I guess it was a serious contender for the Bonus EP then :)

It probably just means they adjusted the volume so all the tracks on that CD are of similar volume. Remastering can mean virtually anything and it's sometimes used to make it seem like the product offers something new.

It is very unlikely that QPL is trying to sell us something old as something new :-)
So, you are probably right ;-)

More likely they just used the 2011 remastered album track and chopped it for this box set. It was only promo copies for radio stations that were the shorter edit, the US single release was full length at 6:26. It's a lame choice for a bonus track any way you look at it.

1997 - Köln. Queen Rocks Press Conference
Reporter: The songs you've chosen exist in different versions.. on American records or even on bootlegs. But you've chosen the regular ones, the ones we all know. Are you saving the rare ones up for a kind of Queen anthology maybe?
Brian: Well, you mean the remixes and stuff.. we honestly think that the originals are better. Yeah, they were meant to be all the original recordings. Cause I think if I buy a compilation album.. and then you get some kind of a different remix, I feel cheated. I would rather give people what they know that the songs sounded like.
Roger: We feel that the original versions.. are the definitive versions. And the way the songs were conceived in the first place. So I think if you chose one they're the best versions to have.

Those bits of footage look gorgeous! I hope one day we can see Houston in that quality

Brian and Roger totally misunderstanding the question.

Trailer is 1080p, are they trying to wind us up even more?

I love the teaser but the reality that we'll get an NTSC (most likely) DVD with blended fields is just depressing. This awesome footage does not deserve it.
