To prove that is the easiest thing in the world: when the script to Metropolis was written, in 1924, the nazis had only held two minor rallies, one in Munich and one in Nuremberg, with minimal attendance, and hardly anyone who wasn't actually a nazi had even heard of these rallies, let alone seen them. Even when the film was released, in 1927, nazi rallies were still a marginal event - they didn't become the huge Nuremberg rallies we know until after the nazis came into power after the 1932 election, and the very first nazi-rally that attracted a serious level of outside attention was in 1929, two years AFTER Metropolis was released.
