bucsateflon, Queen IS rock and roll and so is their frontman, Adam Lambert!

How is AL rock and roll? His covers of other people's music isn't proof, and nor is his solo music.

Icy, you are NOT an Adam “expert” so go away. He rocks his solo music in his live performances more than in the recordings. You are a damn troll whose mission is to make everyone else as negative, miserable and unhappy as you are.

I asked you a question based on your statement. I do know AL isn't a rock and roller based on his covers and his solo music. Very easy to know that much.
No, I'm not a troll. Nice of you to get personal again, Granny Glambert.

I answered your stupid question which you would not have to ask if you had ever seen him in person.

Randy Jackson wanted him to make a rock album which I agree he could have done. He performs live with a rock edge and his signature wail.

I saw Q+AL three times on their recent Aussie tour. The kid can sing and anyone who says he can't is flat out wrong, BUT what struck me was that every night his onstage act was word for word the same every night. I was lucky enough to see the real deal back in the 80s on the Works tour and that was much more spontaneous. The problem with the Lambert tours as far as I'm concerened is that it comes over as too rehearsed, despite the great vocals

No, you made a stupid statement that you could not even answer.
I've seen videos of him live and with his solo music and with Q+AL, I come to the conclusion he is no rock and roller. You think he is a rocker, based on exactly what?
A rock edge? No, I don't think so. His solo music and albums has been firmly in the pop EDM genre. With Brian and Roger, most of that isn't even his own music.
But you think I'm stupid...the irony, it burns. Granny Glambert always gotta defend her boy, I suppose.

He sings his solo stuff differently live than on the recordings, live instruments, changes the way he does some of it to a more pop/rock style and loses the EDM feel, and throws in rock covers he likes. I assume that's what SweetCaroline means.

No one sings exactly the same live than they do n studio of course. Basd on what I've seen and heard, he's no rocker. The fact he covers rock songs, doesn't make him a rock n roller. There's so much more than that.

rockchic65, it’s like talking to a brick wall! She knows it all (she thinks). I don’t see any difference in the way Freddie used to rock ‘n roll live and the way Adam does it. Adam is electric live. You can’t feel that watching a YouTube video. The Queen fans who go to the QAL shows come away totally shocked and in awe! That’s what angers me about the autotuned Grammy winners who can’t cut it when asked to perform live.

Meat Loaf compared Adam to Aretha and the “overdrive” power he generates in a live setting.

Where have I ever said I knew or or know it all. You ate full of insulting crap today, it seems.
For someone who days you have never compared AL to Freddie, you sure do enough of it. Freddie was a natural. AL, not so much.
Oh once again, gripes about the Grammy's and other artists.
Meatloaf said that, and I don't agree. Don't end up posting AL's cover of Think...though I'm sure my saying that will give you an excuse.

Both of my boys were in metal rock bands as young people and our house loves Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Dream Theater, Avantasia. We are all familiar with and love rock and metal. Both of my sons think Adam can do the soaring, very high metal rock and they love his voice. I send vids to my one son of Adam's "metal screams" (LOL) and he is really impressed. My older son is a huge Freddie fan but was also really taken in with Adam on the two Queen tours here in the US. He went with me, prepared not to like it, and thought Adam did a phenomenal job! There are many kinds of rock and metal and some of the songs Queen wrote like SCC, are perhaps not quite as suited to Adam's range. Freddie's lower voice makes them sound more authentic, but Adam does a more than credible job and he has improved immensely over the years. But for the high metal music like the ones mentioned above,Edguy and something like Guns and Roses, Sweet child of mine, Adam would slay it. I pretty much think he can sing anything and I would not say he can't sing rock. Rock has many subtypes and he can definitely sing songs from the groups I have mentioned. His death metal screams would be amazing!!!

I love Sweet Child Of Mine and even Welcome To The Jungle.

Brian and Roger aren’t enough. Some Queen fans need Freddie himself to come back from the dead and put HIS personal stamp of approval on Adam before they can accept him as a worthy rocker!

If icy and some others I could name ever made it to a live show their minds would be blown and they would have nothing more to crab about.

I tried!

So because Brian and Roger hype and love AL, does that mean everyone else is supposed to feel that way? Sorry, I do have my own mind.
Is that why you offered erm bribed about buying me tickets? See, I knew I'd be obligated to love everything about Q+AL, especially AL. So I'm glad I turned your offer erm bribe down. I'm pretty sure if I went I would have wanted to hear certain songs that are no longer performed. I don't think I could ever like the coronet AL wears.
What exactly did you try? You tried shoving AL down everyone's throat for years now. I get that you think the world of the guy, but I think you don't or can't accept not everyone feels the way you do about him.

I agree with that, rock has so many sub types like you say and Adam has the type of voice suited more to some types than others, 80's glam rock/hairband to me. He can definitely do the high rock screams no problem and his low range has extended since he started although he doesn't use it that much but he can if he needs to but it will never sound like that deep resonant type Freddie or someone like Chris Cornell had, that's just down to voice type (timbre). Maybe that's why he's chosen to sing Queen songs the way he does, this way he does them to suit his voice type and judging from the reaction most people love it.
