Holly, I also have the DVDs for Live Aid. Wembley, Budapest, Montreal and the Rainbow. Give what up? Why is this a contest? I’ve said my two biggest regrets is not seeing Queen and Elvis live.
I have no regrets being able to see Brian and Roger in 3 QAL shows and will see #4 in August. They are amazing!

I think you guys are really being unfair. How do YOU know how she feels. You are back to your old tricks, Icy.
"Don't forget, AL can do everything *sarcasm*.
And you are right. Even Brian's and Roger's world don't revolve around AL. Nor should it. I do think AL needs Brian and Roger a heck of a lot more than they need him."
Then you wonder why she isn't happy with you. You are unwilling yourself to give it a rest. As far as who needs whom, I guess I would go with Brian and Roger who say they would never be touring without Adam. Since touring is what seems to make them happy, I would say Adam is integral to QAL. It would be impossible to see it any other way based on Brian and Roger's statement, not what you think is true, even though, Icy, you have no actual insight into what is going on. Your view is only your opinion, as is Caroline's. My opinion is that Brian and Roger can't tour without Adam and Adam wouldn't be able to tour without them, It is a mutual need and they both fulfill their half. It is, if you will, a symbiotic relationship at this point, which requires all three be involved.
[/QUOTE]
She isn't happy about me, no matter what I post. If she can't handle what I post, that's her problem, not mine. Was I offensive in my above post? Did I say she was like Hitler like what she had to say about me? Hell no. No old tricks from me.
AL needs Brian and Roger more than they need him. Pretty sure AL wouldn't be where is he is now without Brian and Roger, even Freddie's and John's legacy. That's a fact.
Brian especially has hyped up AL many times to promote him and Q+AL. Another fact though, Brian's and Roger's world has never entirely revolved around AL. Are you aware of the solo projects they recently did?

If you guys don’t want to hear about or talk about Adam, why do you post in the Queen + Adam Lambert threads? Still a mystery after all of these years!

You can't even give a thought of your own about the Queen concerts you have. Did you even watch them?
In the next breath you say you regret not seeing Freddie with Queen live..and there you go Q+AL is amazing, as you put it. Still the public relations crap.

What guys?
Not up to you who posts where and why. You want everything posted that is glowing only about AL, and you want him everywhere.
Why do you post about Adele and Sam Smith?
Oh wait, I forgot for a second, it's pure envy you have about those two artists.
Jokes on you.

You tell me: you're the one who demanded to know if I'd seen Queen live. Or have you already forgotten that?

Nobody has to present their bona fides. You can just start being a fan of The old Queen or QAL or whoever you want, at any time, even if it is last week. You don't have to pass some kind of a lie detector test. This is beyond ridiculous. If you should like QAL (because you just learned of them or saw them) and never have seen Freddie and Queen, then that is fine too. Liking one doesn't mean you have to have always liked the other.
We can go round and round about who needs each other more, but Icy, you are always wanting to put Adam in his place, which in your POV is nowhere near Brian and Roger. That just isn't a realistic scenario anymore as the train has left that station. They all are a band together as band mates and they love to perform together. I still think it is a mutually beneficial arrangement, one that brings all of them a lot of joy. So, at this point any fans of QAL don't think of it as Adam hanging on to their coattails to get where he is. This is a hugely successful collaboration and that point is moot. Adam brings as much as any of them because there would be no QAL without a singer. He works extremely hard to earn validation and do an amazing job and that is what most people focus on.
As I always say, you are no fan of Adam and QAL, since all you are interested in is Freddie and John sometimes. That is in the past. You can stay there and enjoy what you love, but why bring all this stuff up. It serves no point!

snifflese, you are so reasonable and well spoken. Are you a teacher or journalist now or in another life? :-)
You are so right that we can love the original Queen band as well as the current collaboration and everything in beteeen because their music is timeless. My ears even perk up every time I Want It All is played on my TV for the Grub Hub commercial.

You do know you are contradicting yourself here. I like AL's solo work, at least most of it. Am I a Glambert? Hell no, and I'd rather not be one. Am I Freddie and Queen fan? Sure I am, even though I became a fan in 1992.
If I wasn't interested in Q+AL would I be watching the streams and videos of the shows? Come on now.
I'm not a fan to the degree sweetcaroline is, but guess what? I'm okay with that.
You have stated before you don't think AL gets enough credit from Queen fans. So that's how you see things. I will always feel AL needs Brian and Roger more than they need him. Sorry if that bothers you.

Thing is, you don't have much to say about Queen. You start threads, and you have nothing much to offer only a link and that's it.
It's almost as if you are afraid to say something about Freddie or Queen in case it takes away from AL. You posted about the biopic because of AL's cameo. You posted about Superbowl jam with the Foo's and Roger, not a thought to give of your own, but boom you post a link to a silly poll who should perform next year...of course Q+AL is added in the poll.
You posted a link to Innuendo's anniversary...no thought of your own about that even.
And you have the gall to say some people are so called Queen fans. I swear hypocrisy drips from your finger tips.

Icy, I am not sure if you even like most of his solo stuff. Since we can question fanhood here, I guess I can say that. I get the feeling that just about anything relating to Adam, you don't like. It is the way you say things and when he is mentioned, there is always something wrong with what he did or said or any number of things. I am not sure if it is just Adam or if you feel the way you do because no one could ever do Freddie's part in the band. I guess we would have to see if you had the same reaction to another person fronting the band.
You respond favorably to pretty much any other singer or celebrity that has been mentioned here, but with Adam there is always a negative. That is how I see it and you are more than welcome to you POV, of course, but it bugs me that you pretend to be a fan when to me, you obviously aren't. You can say whatever you feel, but to pretend you like him is what bugs me, because that is not what I see on here. Doesn't make me like you any less, but Adam seems not to be your cup of tea at all and not just with his singing.
I don't know if you even realize that, but that is my perception over the years. Not to trying to be negative, but just trying to explain so that you get what I mean. There are lots of Queen fans that want nothing to do with QAL and I respect that. I don't like everything either!

There was only one person that ever fronted Queen in my books. Freddie Mercury. Not AL and not even Paul Rodgers fronted Queen.
Gee, I guess you missed my posts just from the last couple of days ago where I said I can't stand Maroon 5 and I think Levine's voice, is hardly what I'd call good. I also can't stand Bon Jovi. Better now?
I don't hate AL that's a fact. But this is a fact too, I don't hate the guy either. I don't watch or listen to things I don't like. I like AL, just not to the degree some do. If I'm supposed to like or love everything the guy has ever did, does and will do, that's not me.

Nope, that is fine with me! I think it is really that no one can take Freddie's place and you just aren't feeling it. He is your guy and I respect that. There will never be anyone like him again!! He was amazing for sure.

I liked the comment Taylor Hawkns made after singing Under Pressure with Roger last week. He said it was a hard song to sing and I have heard others say that the whole Queen catalogue is difficult vocally. So, from that standpoint alone, Adam should be commended for making what he has been doing with QAL look so effortless and easy. Instead, he is constantly criticized that he sounds like a goat and, oh my, on one tour he mixed up the verses of BoRhap 3 nights in a row.
In 2012 I saw Queen Extravaganza with 6 singers performing the various songs. I sat in the audience panicking about how in the world was Adam going to perform ALL of those song later that month in Kiev, Ukraine, He says now that he was nervous at that event but he sure didn’t look like it in front of those 250,000 people in the town square.

.I sure loved and still love the talent and courage he shared with the world. I think it will never be forgotten.
He was truly amazing, and even for me, an inspiration.
