They didn’t think it would be appropriate since their movie is nominated.

Where did you get that from?

They probably could have or should perform Bohemian Rhapsody since the nominated songs are being performed.

But Queen aren't even nominated because there is no original music specifically writtien for the biopic. So, once again, there was little chance of Q+AL performing. Queen hasn't been nominated for the music, so why would they perform? SMH.
Thanks for not answering my question above. Guess you have nothing to back up what you claimed.

FYI they cannot play live anymore in a live situation[/QUOTE]
What's wrong with their live playing? Still play pretty damn good if you ask me.

I was assuming Dysan meant Queen (original 4) couldn't play live anymore but maybe I'm wrong?

Iron Butterfly, the Oscars have no host. They would be looking for ways to put on an entertaining show. Queen performing a song from one of the top 10 highest grossing films worldwide would be a smart choice.

I know there will be no host. Even so, I do think some of the show will be entertaining.
Fact is, and I'm sure you know this, there is no original music specifically writtien for the biopic, so I thought all along there would be little chance of Brian and Roger performing. AL isn't even attending apparently, so even less of a chance.

I think it'd be career suicide for them to turn down the opportunity. At least they'd make a good spectacle of the event right off the top and inform other folks of their bit of mastery whether old or not.
THEY'LL NEVER SELL ANOTHER RECORD AGAIN!!!!!
;-)
but seriously,... would be nice to open with something odd....do a vintage Queen-like or Prince- like medley that captures their bravura without toning it down.
Only prob besides no John Deacon is: Adam can't "sell" the "HARD" songs
This ain't "the west end"... you couldn't just tease AKOM and expect rich old ladies of the stage and film to hem and haw.
They'd have to compliment things with both facets hard and soft.
My thing would be start soft....
What would work?
Under cover: BIJOU
Then TSMGO with well.... if it were a lengthy bit GAGA bit over Talk improv then well.... never mind. That's already like 6 minutes. I can't think of a closer. WWRY or WATC would be lame and lacking a driving momentum....big finish. WWRY fast would sound ridiculous with Adam again
....well. it's an idea. Sucks if they turned it down. Wouldn't even have to be their own song. Brian and Roger should sing TATDOOL or something

Could just all be media hype, will be interesting to see if Bri & Roger make a statement either acknowledging or refuting it.
Just a thought but do artists sing live at the Oscars or is it playback? I don't watch award shows so I've no idea but I know Brian has said they won't do anything where they can't play fully live.
