Just based on listening to the new mix of 'Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow', the snare sounds better, the kick drum is now too low in the mix (for me), and the toms can be made out just a little better but still sound 'boxy'.

I supposed the logic is that they wanted to 'lift the veil' with the clarity of this new mix but still leave it very close to the original in terms of relative levels of each part....they've achieved that pretty much, but there will be some people wanting a totally extravagant remix that alters the tracks, introduces new parts etc... I'm glad they didn't go that route.

Yeah these projects are difficult. I think to do what they've done is largely pointless given the incremental changes and their time could be better spent on a dozen other projects. A full 'remix' project? Well why not, but farm it our so you don't have to babysit it.

And we all know how good third party Queen remixes turn out.

It's not Beethoven, to change the oboe accents and instantly produce a brilliant performance worldwide revered.
"A totally extravagant remix that alters the tracks" would have been an option, at least for those who dreamed of a rerecording made by the surviving Queen members.

That bird has flown. They had the pick of the tracks to fiddle with and did a couple (which I don't think they should've - like the Cross track). Can't go back to it now.

This autumn is the time of (excellent) remixes:

1) Abbey Road
2) Mr Bad Guy
3) Momentary Lapse Of Reason + Delicate Sound Of Thunder

Bowie's 1969 album out next month remixed. The Doors Soft Parade has remixes stripping it of the orchestration and that's coming out again too

Abbey Road sounds GREAT!

but, on the other side, Never Boring (the compilation) is a great meh... only three new mixes, and the rest, is on the other two cds or in on the recent release of Time... my God, why put 6 tracks two times on the same package? It was too difficult to put the extended versions on NB?

The "single edits" of "The Golden Boy" & "How Can I Go On" 2012 versions are also new for the compilation.

do you see that in the book, at the end it appears the credits of 'Love Me Like There's no tomorrow' video from youtube (but it not appear on the collection) and also a 'animated' clip of Love Kills? I believe that they will upload to youtube at some moment
