I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything revelatory in the box set. If there were any decent unreleased tracks with finished lyrics and a great vocal take from Freddie, they would have been released by now. Would be nice to be proven wrong. Maybe Brian and Roger will add lead vocals to the demos in the places where Freddie is improvising.

But some of them are genuinely amazing. Face It Alone was haunting. I hope they keep them as intact as possible.

"I guess we're falling" has the best single potential imo, the lyrics are in a sketchy state though. Dog with a Bone is awful imo but i'd still be happy if it was included.

I really, really wouldn't get my hopes up like some people are doing here.
Then again, going beyond what they did with NOTW is definitely doable.

Is this Box Set really happening? Or is it just speculation and rumors as of now? I’m a bit confused, since the thread grew a lot, if this is a really “a thing” already now.

Could be something great, but we all know they will f*ck it up one way or another. Either content-wise or price-wise. Or both.

If they fuck up something which is largely unfuckupable, I'll be staggered.
Although they'd be wise to not have the back cover featured too much at the risk of casual shoppers vomiting over the stock.

Can’t see a boxset happening

It's the same with Bowie - 2 very odd choices for albums that got the big boxset treatment: Station To Station (which had only 6 tracks on the original anyway and re did them over multiple discs) and Black Tie White Noise (from 1993 which I doubt any casual fan would know had a boxset). Just this week a 5 disc set of the 1969 'Space Oddity' (AKA) album was announced (fair dos - 50 years since his break through and a genuinely great overview of that era with 12 totally unreleased tracks on top of the previously unreleased demo material that has come out as vinyl only stuff throughout this year).
Queen will now have NOTW (again fair enough it has 2 huge hits on it) and potentially The Miracle (a bona fide Pointless answer on a Queen round). Both artists have totally missed their key household name albums for the multidisc treatment. All I know is this latest Bowie one points to an 'eras' style set going forward focussing on a couple of years each. We know The Miracle has a wealth of stuff to include so is a good idea. It's nearly a decade since the 2011 reissues which while being a mixed bag, suggested we were finally in for some big treats. Or more fairly ANY movement on that front. We have had the easy wins already (BBC set, Rainbow box etc) so even the hint of this being discussed is great. And I'm the biggest cynic going.

I definitely would have thought A Night At The Opera and The Game would've come before any other albums. Especially that both have at least two massive songs.

dysan, re:

Cover art for live releases.
Changing set lists on release from what was played on the night.
Easily done by people that could care less.

Honestly, I will gladly settle for fucked up cover art on an otherwise great release - for instance, I think the Rainbow box is downright ugly, but I do really appreciate the set, even if there was *some* room for improvement.

Greg Brooks just answer me about The Miracle Box. He said that they are talking about that just right now, just to see if is viable or not

The set should include better monopoly pieces for those who bought the silly game:
