I was going to post a long, satirical rant here, but I've decided not to be daring and instead am going to post, "Good show, Guitar Hero. Some people will never get the sticks out of their asses."

"Good show, Guitar Hero. Some people will never get the sticks out of their asses."
Thanks Lester, but I would have definitely preferred to see the long satirical rant. And it's never too late!
"i'm just glad You didn't say "Jesus Christ is gay" that would have offended me"
Why? If you read what I said above, then you shouldn't be offended. If you need any further reason not to be offended by this kind of thing, you should check out the two classic religion-oriented topics I was heavily involved in. Educated knowledge, and good stuff everyone should be at least aware of.
"You people make me sick."
Care to explain why?
Bob The Shrek · Member since
'Jesus is a c****' it makes me sick that you and the others have enough guts to blaspheme the Almighty God who gave everything He had to save our souls.
It is not blasphemy if we don't believe.

I dont mind if people choose to be religious....I would probably call myself agnostic, because saying "I know god doesnt exist" is probably as aggorgant as saying "I know he does"....
Faith is a cop-out. It is intellectual bankruptcy. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can't be taken on its own merits.
-Dan Barker, author and former evangelist
Truth does not have to be accepted on faith. Scientists do not hold hands every Sunday, singing, "Yes gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! Amen.
-Dan Barker, former evangelist and author
I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment, to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure.
-Clarence Darrow, American lawyer
and the best one:
If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.

Excellent quotes, DeaconJohn. The words "former evangelist" were very reassuring to see. That's one more person who got a grip on reality before it was too late.
Listen all, I have no problems with anyone challenging me in terms of anything in this post. Please note that the bible cannot be your only source of historical information if you do.
"Educated knowledge? Is that what you call it? I call it nothing but nonsence. I am a Christian, and I have studied the Bible from start to finish. And the crap that you spread is quite UNeducated."
Who in the world are you to say that it's uneducated? How many books on religion have you read, not including the bible? The bible is completely full of contradictions. The bible is NOT the place to search for truth and knowledge. The only thing you can credit yourself with after reading the bible is memorizational skills. Finding a fictional passage on request does not make you even remotely intelligent. Understanding what the writers of the retainer class were trying to say is where intelligence comes in. In your lifetime, you are not going to find one intelligent theologian who believes that more than 10% of the bible is comprised of some kind of truth.
In the time these stories were written, average people were not literal and literate people like we are today. Stories were not taken literally. These people were figurative people, and looked at the person that was being written about, and were interested in why they were being singled out. Back then, it was known to all that such things were fiction. Not one word of the bible has been proven to have been written before the year 70. Can you be sure everything did not go through the "telephone game" process until such a time?
But that aside, since you say you believe in every word of the bible, you are therefore classified as a fundamentalist. Being as you say you are so, then here are things (just a few off the top of my head) you claim to be and/or agree with. Please either concur or change your stance when done reading.
You believe women are to be subordinate, and are not allowed to work. The man is to control her life. If this is not agreed with, both will therefore not be acceptable in God's kingdom after death, because that would not be agreeing with God's law. I will check with my minister if you would like the exact location of this passage.
You believe Jesus was tempted by the devil for 40 days in the desert (about the year 25), by a devil which wasn't yet "created" by the church. FACT. Believe what you want. Truth: Christianity is derivative of early forms of Judaism, who did not have beliefs in such things as the devil.
You believe Jesus died for your sins, therefore your sins are automatically forgiven. Therefore, you are to have no control over what wrong you do, because God supposedly has a plan for you.
You are strictly against gays, and think they should be removed from society, because they do not coinside with the "laws of nature", as the bible puts it.
You believe a woman who gets brutally raped is not allowed to have an abortion.
You believe that you are to serve God and God only, but you are a fan of the band Queen. Being as you are not devoting 100% of yourself to God, therefore you will not be acceptable to God after your death.
You believe that honouring your mother and father are correct, regardless of the parents' performance. Therefore, if one of your parents beats you and says you're worthless, you must agree with them, because a commandment says so.
You believe stealing is a sin, therefore if you have one piece of pirated software on your computer, you will go to hell. The same goes if you have even one burned cd or blank tape in your collection.
You believe in the concept of sin, although it was translated incorrectly from the original latin scrolls. Such mistranslations have led to centuries of people devoting their lives to clensing themse

"Christians believe that once the debt was paid by Christ, you no longer had to follow the 10 Commandments."
I've never heard of such a thing! Sounds like a good and logical idea, though.
"It is good however to keep them as a personal aid in your life."
True enough.
"The devil, Satan, Lucifer, was cast from Heaven durring Creation. So yes he was on earth from the beginning of time. Long before the Church 'made him up'."
Well, if you believe in the creation story as it's told, then I suppose that would coinside with it.
"I accepted Him as Savior, and asked forgiveness of my sins. God has no plan for anyone. You have free will. Just like I believe it, you don't."
I'm glad you believe in free will. But yes, the bible makes numerous references to "God's plan".
"I hold nothing against anyone. As there are many different off shutes of Christianity ie Baptists, Reformed, Christian Reformed, many people think differently about different things. I try to show love to everybody. It doesn't matter to me what you are."
Again, wonderful to hear that.
It's just that when you said you believe every word of the bible, you are implying you agree with its anti-gay sentiments. Perhaps in the future you wouldn't claim to agree with all of it, as anyone with their facts straight will assume such things about you. :)
Almost everything I referred to in my last post was directly from the bible, so therefore, being as you have said these above things I have quoted, you are far from being a fundamentalist. I'm glad to hear that.
"Is there a difference between raped, and 'brutally' raped? Is it the childs fault?"
Of course it isn't! So you are saying that the mother doesn't have a choice in what to do with her own body? Or must she raise her rapist's child, and have that with her for the rest of her life, without a choice?
"Where in the Bible does it say 'Christians shall have no fun.'? I like a lot of different music. Not just Queen. I have given myself to God. He knows me, and I know Him. every relationship is different."
The bible doesn't say that, but the bible does say, "love the lord your God with all your heart and all your mind and soul" or similar. It also says to serve nobody but God. So if you as much give Queen any status, according to scripture, you are not completely serving God, and you will end up... you know where.
"The Bible also says 'He who harms any of these little ones (kids) it would be better if a millstone was hung around his neck, and drown in the deepest sea"
You have just pointed out a major contradiction then. If not, then according to scripture, you must still honour that parent who abused that child, and received the according punishment. Of course this is highly illogical. But I'm just taking the words in the context they're written, and not twisting them whatsoever!
"You're kidding me right? The next time your buddy comes over and says 'check this new cd out I got yesterday' and you pop it in your stereo he just shared it with you. Uh Oh."
No, you then don't have your own copy. That's not stealing. I said, if you have any copies, that's considered stealing.
"The scrolls you are refering to are no in Latin. They are Hebrew, and Aramaic, and just a small few in Greek."
I stand corrected. A brief brain fart it was. :)
"'You believe the NT scripture in which Jesus supposedly quotes OT. However, you do not note that virtually everyone born into the peasant class (which was about 90% of the ancient world's population) in his time were illiterate, and had no means of education. Being as Jesus was a member of this class (Joseph was a carpenter for crying out loud), he was most likely no exception.'
I doubt it. That argument is quite dumb."
It's not an argument. It's fact, and nothing but fact. Historical fact.
"'You believe God has the right to kill anyone who doesn't agree with you, as stated in Numbers 25. Therefore, you support terroris
