How many songs can Paul memorize the lyrics for? Maybe five more "obscure" songs if we are lucky? Is he to be expected to memorize multiple new songs that he probably has never heard before?

Yeah, could you imagine the look on Paul face if Brian handed him Fairy Feller's Master Stroke
lyrics and said " Hey Paul, we were think of busting this one out tonight. What do you think, mate?"

Queen Online has some great photos of the show up.

Disappointing is the one word that sums it up for me. A Queen show was always extraordinary last night was distinctly ordinary.

It’s nice to read those positive critics. I hope the criticasters will shut their mouths now.

And about the set list.... every single person has his own wishes. It’s impossible to satisfy everyone. I think it's an acceptable set list of songs.
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY

Wow, this is great to read that there are many GOOD reports now about the show, I did not expect other things but am glad that there are.

I will add links, copy some pictures and share the reviews that I get from some of my friends (who dont post here or at QOL) in my msn group as well, feel free to join (or not) at http://groups.msn.com/StayingPower/

I am happy for all the people who were there, it sounds great and I can't wait for my own experiences!

I'm sure it was a great concert but I have to say I would expect some "non greatest hits stuff"...or more songs from The Miracle, Innuendo...mainly beacuse this tour is for fans (I think)...and we have all the albums, know the songs, I think everybody would be grateful if suddenly they have played "dragon attack", "keep yourself alive", "seven seas of Rhye"...or just "breakthru", "headlong"...I think the set is too like 86 tour...It's rare also they don't include "under pressure" (I really love it)...isn't it?

Take care!

Now it's morning and I'm meant to be working but...

If really was great. Before we all meet in the Pub. Martin and Jeroen left at about five to get a space. We stayed in before meeting an elusive member of the board. Then I showed Barbara and friends the wonder of cuisine English style, at a really greasy chicken place. Before walking past all of the queues and picking up our tickets at 19.01 hours! :)
So we got a good place in front a railing near the front then waited and waited and another waited for good measure!!
Playing the whole of track 13 was not an ideal start for me, as we all expected it as a brief intro but, no. Then Eminem!? and Lose Yourself. To be honest, at this point I was rather scared.
I'm quite sure Paul did a brief intro to a song I can't remember/didn't recognise before TYMD started, I knew as soon as Brian started it was going to be great. I took pretty much all of my pics at this point. I wanted to get a few (even if they are shite) but didn't want to spend the whole gig taking pics! I Want To Break Free and Fat Bottomed Girls also came early on and were great.
The audience seemed well up for it, which was good. Although it was a little tame. I guess I'm used to moshing around to Razorlight (yeah them!). However, there was lots of singing which I hope doesn't effect the quality of a recording being done near me!
My highlight was the bit Brian did by himself. 39 which he said he wasn't going to do! Not sure about that bit myself, but it got a great reaction. Then Love of My Life, it's always great to hear your favourite songs live, and that's my favourite song ever, so I liked!!

I quite liked they way all alternated singer and who was on stage to give them all a rest. Obviously a first proper gig for ages was going to take some out of them, but they coped well. Roger looked a lot better than in the pics from last week.

Brian's guitar solo was good on a technical level, however I don't enjoy them so by the end I was ready for some proper music and not an instrumental.
The rest of the gig was cool. I Want It All I liked, I did expect Paul to sing that though.
Radio Ga Ga was good, apart from the annoying back drop of dolls (a bit ala We Will Rock You) doing all the hand claps. Bo Rhap was great, a real surprise to me, as I didn't expect them to play it. The Freddie part was cool, and glad to see they didn't forget John by at least including about 2 pictures of him!!

I enjoyed Roger's solo part of These Are The Days, a great song, and one song I feel he does really well. I'm in Love With My Car was fantastic. Didn't know whether he could drum and sing at the same time for a whole song anymore - well he can!

The Paul Rodgers/ Free/ Bad Company songs were alright, I knew the songs but don't particuarly like them, but they had a good feel live and Brian certainly adapted well to them.

The encore was predictable but I guess we needed to hear WWRY/ WATC!

All in all it was a jolly good night, up there with gig of the year and for an opening night was a real good show. I'd expect them to get better and better as the tour goes on and they get used to each other more.
Paul had quite a good stage presence and Brian was on top form.
They all seemed to really appreciate the reception they were given and I think pretty much all the audience went home very happy.
That was certainly how I went home, and how the people talking on the tube were too.
