Sad thing is Roger and Brian can say anything and some will believe it. True they were bandmates but that doesn't mean they know everything about him. It seems like they only lie thesedays...Kudos to 'ol Johnny! The only member i respect.
The topic starter is under the obvious misconception that Freddie Mercury never said anything that he didn't repeat in an interview. Given Freddie's well-known dislike of the press, I dare say there was an avalanche of things he didn't say during interviews.

Who knows what Freddie thought of Paul Rodgers? Free were playing major festivals before Queen got up and running.

I can't believe people here are willing to overlook Freddie's remarkable vocal arrangements as part of the Queen sound.
Sadly, to carry on the Queen name any further than the recent nostalgia tour will be seen as a sad footnote to the bands legacy.

When Queen wasn't even there, Paul Rodgers was already a star, and all queenies played his songs in the first bands they were in...he surely inspired them all, and although nobody may have captured Freddies words on the subject, i am sure he is very very happy with Paul when he looks down on Bri and Rog and what they are doing...
It isn't really important...the reality is that Q+PR are working on new material, and i can't wait to see what they'll come up with...i do hope they will produce a new lighting-rig for us, as it wouldn't be that exciting to see the same stageact again...as Queen always used to change theirs with every new tour, i think Bri and Rog should come up with something brandnew and spectaculair over their heads... I did love the lights they had...but we've seen that now...so..IF they read this...: design something spectacular again! A stage Freddie would have loved to prance around on....make it Queen-worthy!

Who cares if Paul Rodgers was Freddie's hero? lmao, even if they hired Robert Plant instead of Paul Rodgers, people would be upset. And Robert Plant WAS a hero of Freddie's. Actually, later Freddie became Plant's hero, but whatever. :P Paul Rodgers is a great vocalist, IMO.
