Well, here in The Netherlands we get english, french and deutch at school, and all the english/american programs here aren't dubbed, like they do in Germany or Italy (and other countries I believe).
And I think it's pretty hard to find your way on the internet when you can't read or understand english, it's the main language online.
 

Regarding the 'hypocrisy' of criticising mistakes while making mistakes: You don't have to be perfect or to be able to top what you're commenting on. Or do you think only filmmakers are entitled to say 'I didn't like that movie'? Only published authors can say 'that's not a good book'? Only newspaper owners can say 'that tabloid's pants'?

Regarding the whole 'my arse you're that old' thing: That's quite an unfair remark. There are loads of immature people who were alive by the time of Hurst's perfect hat-trick, and there are loads of reasonably stand-up teenagers.

Regarding the 'foreign-language speakers effort' appreciation: This isn't the Special Olympics - and I do agree that people without enough proficiency in English can benefit from a spellchecker or even the swiftness of Wiki-sites (a German-speaking person who doesn't know how to say Partitur in English can look it up in Wikipedia and then click the English link, simple as that). But I also happen to agree that it's rather cheap to ridicule someone because of missing commas or the lack (or superfluous use) of a parenthesis.

Regarding the whole 'those documentaries aren't made for die-hards' comment: While it's true, think about something: if they've got time to get facts wrong (e.g. claiming the B/W Bob Harris interviews come from '73), they've also got time to get them right (you don't need to spend a year or a thousand quid to change a digit). Also, all 'trivia gurus' began by being 'common viewers/listeners/researchers' one day, so why not having the information right from the beginning?

That's my complaint about, say, magazine articles about 'Bo Rhap' claiming it was recorded on 16-track tape - it's not hard to get that fact right (you only need to google 'Bohemian Rhapsody multitracks' and not only you realise they're 24, but you also get hold of them), and it's not hard to change '16' by '24'. But they don't bother spending ten seconds on a simple 'let's confirm whether this is right or not'. And it's not a die-hard detail anyway.
