"It was he who introduced us at that famous Christmas Eve live TV concert we did, all those years ago, in 1975. At the hallowed venue of Hammersmith Odeon (...) Well, we talked about that ancient night, on camera, to generate some 'bonus' footage for the DVD of the show ... now beautifully restored, and soon to be released. Not sure when that will be available ..." http://www.brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbjul09a.html So, party time?

Hmm...
I think I might be the only one who isn't TOO excited, since we already have this concert in almost complete form in beautiful quality. All in all, it might be a stepping stone to more 70s releases.

Good, very good news !!
hope I´m not wrong, but I believe we´ll have long-awaited releases in the next 2 or 3 years. At last !!
Yes, this is the first step for the release of 70´s stuff; I´d love to see Hammy ´75 officially released, but in addition we also have the BBC set, wich I think is also in the kitchen; Greg´s been talking recently about the Live KIllers set; Brian also mentioned the Freddie & MJ tracks .... please baby, please, bring ´em all to me !![/img]

First person to start a thread announcing their boycott of the dvd because the artwork does not reflect the true artistic merit of Queen, will get a kick in the nuts.
Great news.

Holy shit ! I can't believe my eyes !
Just let's hope it's complete (at least with the beginning) and not the cut used for all the TV re-broadcasts. If it's complete (at least until the end of the r'n'r medley) I won't care how much the artwork will suck, I'll get it as soon as it gets released

Oh yes... finally good news!!!
December 2009 would be an excellent release date.
Hope to see some day a better version of Rainbow '74 (not awfully cut as the VHS version), a complete version of Hammersmith '79 and a restored Earls Court '77 with better camera shots and audio remastered...
Houston '77 could be also a very good release (maybe this is the best performance that we have on video of Queen in the '70s together with Hammersmith '79) rather than Hyde Park '76 (I don't like the setlist and the mixing of Freddie's voice in this concert).
Yeah I know... you may say I'm a dreamer (but I'm not the only one)!

It's been on the cards for a few years now, but what's stopped it coming out is the fact that the multi-track master tape for Now I'm Here was either damaged or missing. Obviously they've found it now or done some sort of work-around.
Expect it to be 16:9 version.

No multitrack recordings exists, as it was recorded by the BBC who record live straight to 2 track. 2 live mixes were done on the go - one for the TV feed and one for radio. And of course it won't be in widescreen?! I think they've learnt by now that you don't do go fucking around with aspect ratios of archive material, especially when such a process will amplify any limitations of the original footage!

Well One Of Many 70s Concerts To Be Realesed Now Put This Into Thought If Hammy 75 Sells Brilliantly then Maybe They Might Release More If Not We Are Stuck With Budapest Rio etc BRING ON THE 70S

I wonder if they'll use any of the Rainbow footage as "bonus material". Hammersmith is pretty short compared to previous live Queen DVDs.

Finally!
That's the Brian May this world needs: more DVD's, less American Idol.
