Don't get too excited. I expect a 2 DVD release, 1st disc being the gig (the TV broadcast edit), and the second disc being an interview with Bob Harris + the BBC performances. Or they may even squeeze it to 1 DVD
However they do it, I hope the video bitrate is as high as possible (ie 10mb/s). DVDs look rubbish on Hi-Def TV sets unless they are upscaled, so the higher the bitrate the better.
Hopefully QPL will see sense oneday and release everything on Blu-Ray if only to take advantage of the extra space!

Even if you don't have multi-tracks, band-splitting and neat little digital tricks like that can go a long way towards faking them.

thats not true... BBC Do record the multitracks, BB king played live on the bbc, and when it was released, the multittracks were remixed, there are a lot of elton john recordings that as well are remastered from the multitracks...
In the past few years they may have recorded things to multitrack if they were looking into a DVD release of something, I can almost guarantee you no multitrack recordings exist for BBC recordings from the 60's through to well past 2000. Bit of a pointless discussion though - because, for the tenth time, no BBC multitracks exist for Hammersmith. If a multitrack recordinging has suddenly surfaced, it would have been done independently of the BBC - the chances of this happening though are extremely slim.

How do you explain the existence of 2 DIFFERENT RADIO mixes ?
He cant, it is imposible to remaster something on that way, just compare the two mixes, and theres a huge difference on quality, its obvious that it was remixed from the masters, i think that the prove is the guitar on the march of the black queen, on one mix, you hear the guitar on the left (i think) and thats all, but on the 2005 radio mix you can hear the delay on the other side... the only way to do that is by having the guitar track... that means... there is a multitrack!!

Look on his soapbox again. He says that he wants fans to find some stuff for the dvd. And that there will be a prize...
So does anyone have anything?

Isn't Brian's request a bit ambigious?
I believe it was merely a few days ago when he criticised the ones who leaked the MJ/FM tracks (read: traders, collectors, bootleggers) and now he is asking those (read: traders, collectors, bootleggers) - who may have unseen footage of Hammy '75 - to help him?

Filming a live show, open to the public, is much different from leaking tracks that were privately recorded at home or in a studio without intention of any kind of public airing.

As I previously said, if there's a multitrack it will have been recorded independently of the BBC by the band/management. That said, do you honestly think QP went and remixed it (which would have involved baking the tapes, transfering to digital, mixing it and mastering it) for some random Swedish radio station? Don't think so. I don't recall hearing this supposed 2005 remix - are you sure it isn't just the TV mix cleaned up? Brian commented on not being able to go back and dramatically improve the audio, didn't he though??

Could it be possible that the radio station which originally aired this recorded masters?
On brians soapbox he said, "it can all be restored to good quality, in sound and vision".

Definitely not. It is a completely different stereo mix, I assure you.
Maybe we should express our opinions about the DVD and what exists/doesn't exist after it's released... just my two cents.

Unfortunately I don't have anything... But I can send them an idea for the packaging for that release !!! I can send them my metallic lunchbox when I was a kid !! It would include the double-DVD, a T-Shirt, and would look like a quite weird big box in the middle of your CD collection. But hey, you can add an apple and a tablecloth for picnic for the deluxe edition, and/or you could ask the fans some more money to have the apple dedicated by Freddie !! All of origin !
Just a thought.
excited anyway that they now start to release VERY interesting things. Let's see the result of it ! And the possible bonuses !

We should hold our horses on this one I think - if the search is only now on for the footage of the encore tracks played that night, we could yet be waiting in to 2010 for this one to see the light of day.
Brings in to question what on earth GB has been doing all this time in terms of getting hold of this kind of thing.....

recent posts by the QOL forum administrators suggest this release isn't scheduled for 2009, as The Singles vol.3 and the new Best Of album are the products to hit the market in Xmas '09 and it seems there wouldn't be more room for any additional release.
So, we won't see this Hammy '75 DVD until, at least, 2010 .... wich, to be honest, sounds good to me, as there will be more time for its preparation. According to Brian, much care is being taken into it ... so, are we allowed to dream of a BBC boxset in 2010 ? life would be so beautiful if such set materialized ... :)

Well, they didn't bother going back to the multitracks for Wembley either - they produced a pseudo 5.1 mix instead.
The fact that they did that for Wembley has always annoyed me. Surely it can't just have been for penny pinching reasons when I'm sure that this is their biggest selling live DVD? They should have gone back to the multi tracks and really remixed this, as they did with Montreal.

Although I'm not so excited as I would be some 6, 10 years ago, I'm glad we're finally have official 1970s live concert! I was kinda hopeing they have the video from the missing three tracks, but the don't. I wanted to ask this: Is there a chance for some other complete video concert from the opera tour 75/76? I can't belive when they toured the states and especially Japan, the didn't record something in Japan in 1976!? (after haveing such big success with their first visit to Japan previous year!
