I dont think that everyone who went to a QPR gig did so for nostalgia (probably %80-90%) as proven by the number of hardcore fans on Queenzone IMO.

Definitely not nostalgia...look al the youngsters there. In Argentina, Chile and Brasil at least, people wanted to listen the new tracks from TCR. Look in their local news channels in youtube.

...by the way, in the Live in Urkaine DVD, many young people seem to have their first rocking experience.

Funny, you'd have thought the album sold well the way you're talking about it.

I think anyone who expected it to sound like Queen (of old) was always going to be disappointed.

Brian and Roger were 14 years older than when they last worked together (on a whole album of new material), and 40 years older than when they were in Smile. There is bound to be a massive change of approach in that time.

Throw in the new influence of a different collaborator and you will have something that will not sound like traditional Queen.

So Brian finally made that time travel thing working huh?

Make no mistake if this had been a debut album by any other band the music press would have raved about it,the promotion behind it was nil,a comeback album by Queen would have been huge, but no one knew about it,i think this is the main reason Paul has walked. It is a very good bunch of songs,my only quibble is that i would have liked more over the top guitar from Brian,to give it the real Queen sound.

Loved it. And to be honest, would prefer a new QPR album every 2 years than the anthologies. Live in the now!

Is half a million sales bad? I'm not quite sure any more.

In the UK my local HMV store is selling it for £3.00 or on HMV.com for £2.99 if anyone is interested. To me this album is ok but lacks decent bass. If John was still actively around, would this album have even been made, who knows.

Agree. Besides "Suck On The Jugular" on Voodoo Lounge by The Rolling Stones the TCR is like most post-Wyman Stones music. No real bass.

I liked it. I think the musical skill was beerilliant. It was really obvious that bri and rog havent been sitting around doing nothing in the 18-ish years since fred died. And all these people that are bashing Paul Rodgers- Look, Freddie's dead, nothing you say about Paul can bring him back. Paul isnt as good as Fred i'll admit but hes not bad and be honest, wouldn't you rather that Brian and Roger kept going with him as frontman than not make any more music at all.

I definitely wasn't impressed. Most of the tracks are pretty bland, some are just insipid.

AHH, I guess you mean the mathematic mistake I made in that there is actually 13 years between MIH and TCR?

Well spotted. Somehow I tend to think of TCR as a 2009 album even though mine was delivered to me at 9:30 in the morning on the day if it's release in the UK.

Still my point remains however.
