Yes. Indeed. What they did put on the DVD is great and the quality is some of the best ive ever heard. Too bad so much of it is edited out/fixed/pasted from other nights etc. And how come on RAH '70 they had to cut out about a min. of page's solo on Comm. Breakdown, they completely cut out Thank You (???) and Long Tall Sally(???). ?????? It would be great for a Budapest release with the treatment that Wembley got. But I would much rather get a never-to-be-released-in-our-wildest-dreams boxset of Rainbow '74 Uncut, Hammy '75, and Earl's Court+Houston '77. I would say Hyde Park too, but this will NEVER, in all likelihood get a release apart from a snippet here or there, simply because of the quality. Have you seen the box sets that Genesis have done with their albums? Queen should do the same and also the same for a DVD set too.

True enough. Having said that, I approached the Led Zeppelin DVD pretty much ignorant of their live catalogue. In fact the only live stuff I'd seen of them before the DVD was their Live Aid show. I wasn't cognizant of the edits and changes.

It's nice to think that one day, as downloaded stuff starts to replace removable media like CDs and DVDs, bands will be able to release a lot more rarities because the "no one will buy it, so we can't press it" excuse will no longer be a concern. It probably won't be like that for a long while, and to be honest I prefer buying stuff in packages (I'd buy vinyl if I didn't already have the ones I want). But we can hope that there'll be a trend towards band catalogues expanding someday.

At least, that's what I personally hope for! I know that waiting around for a band like Queen to release their version of the 'Anthology' is virtually pointless.
Do you have any idea how much my UK copy of Innuendo (Original, Vinyl) is worth? Cuz I was looking through some KISS albums the other day at my local used record shop and found a MINT COPY! Not even any ring wear!!! I live in Florida, so it was a blessing from above, and I know it is original. PCSD115 or whatever. I got it for 15 bucks!

Actually it's one of 2 great albums I bought last year - the other is Death Magnetic

I feel sorry for these poor souls that think metallica are still great. The band hasn't put out a good album since the 80's. Poor wannabe young metal heads.

Really?!? Shoot me if you must, but I think Load is actually a really good album. Much better than The Black Album, in fact. ReLoad's not even that bad. St. Anger wouldn't have been bad if it werent for the production on it. Death Magnetic too is really good. Just get rid of one or two tracks on it and it might've been perfect. You just have to approach each album differently.

yeahhh... i agree... and: why metallica have a Guitar Hero and Queen not?????
mike hunt · Member since
Wow, metallica has a guitar hero?.....I'm not talking about Queen anyway. I'm talking about these young wannabe boys who think metallica are still cool. You are the people who need a lesson about what real thrash metal is about. Check out early slayer, exodus, the first 3 metallica albums. The first three anthrax, agnostic front. You little boys think metallica is still cool?...come on now!...they suck. Why arn't Queen on guitar hero?....Who cares.

Hahah... worst defence I've ever heard. "They have a guitar heroooooooo".

I know Metallica's first 3 albums pretty much defined thrash along with Slayer, Anthrax and many others. Mike Hunt, You should learn not to be so critical of music. It is what it is. Dont go bashing those that may like a certain type just because you dont. Unless it is any "Disney" artist or some country. No flame war was intended to be started by this post.

All they would need on it are KYA, Bijou, Invisible Man and Dead On Time. If you're smart, you'll catch my drift.

that was a true classic line. That kid is pretty funny I must admit.
Lookin' Divine In Good Ol' '89 · Member since
Indeed it was. Kids need to get off their asses and learn real instruments. I only like Guitar Hero/Rock Band because the introduce kids to good music instead of the shit on the radio today. "All We Hear Is Radio Ga Ga..."
