The reason Wilki's initial announcement  was taken down is because this was not the exact tracklisting for the CDs.
The correct tracklisting will be announced soon.

That's right! :-) I will repeat here for those who have not read my statement on the edited post above:

"It has been brought to my attention that the details I have posted are outdated, so I decided to erase them in order to avoid further confusion.

Those currently published by UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE Japan at:
http://store.universal-music.co.jp/fs/artist/c/queen_all
are also preliminary, and should not be regarded as the definitive product.

Sorry for any incovenience."

I await the official track-listing with interest...and in hope that we're going to get more than 5 tracks on the 2nd CD!

I can't recall any previous Universal deluxe edition that only has 25 mins (appx) of material on its bonus disc.

Compared to many other bands, the offering of bonus tracks here is actually pretty good.

It's not as good as some of the Yes or Springsteen remasters and the albums aren't in 5.1 like Genesis, but it's way better than what Chicago and Pink Floyd have had to offer.  Chicago just added single versions, and Floyd haven't officially released a single live track from 1972 through 1977.. i.e. the era important to a fair chunk of their fanbase.

Maybe QP do have something in store for the bigger fans.  But for the remaining 99.99% of the population interested in old Queen, there will be something new on each of the albums in the bonus tracks.  Bring Back That Leroy Brown (a capella) and You Take My Breath Away from Hyde Park 76 will be a great listen for us, and the tracks from BBC sessions 2 and 4 will be a great listen for everyone else.  This is definitely a step in the right direction.

Where da F***K are :

Silver Salmon

Polar Bear

Hangman

???

I'll never  buy any new album of Queen.  Genesis fans , Deep Purple fans gets great bonuses. But not Queen fans. They'll get another 10 000 versions of old tracks.

40TH Anniversary  editions ?  AUDIO COMMENTARY ?! instead of unreleased tracks ?

See What A Fool I've Been (original B-side) [bonus track in the 1991 USA/Canada re-release]

twice ? on Q 1 & Q 2 ?

another poor joke ?

Wrong. The bonustracks offered would be perfectly good as bonustracks, tacked onto the end of the regular album - would be no problem at all, as every album clocks in at under 45 minutes. Putting those tracks on an extra disc in a 'deluxe edition' is just a way to charge more money - because you can bet that these 2-CD deluxe editions won't be in shops for 15.99 euros/$20/11.99 pounds.

Pink Floyd haven't reissued any of their material since 1994 except for a mini-LP-type of deal a couple of years back (unlike Queen, who've put out 3 or 4 different sets of mini-LP's since 1998). Nick Mason has said that they've been working on a re-release though. Seeing as they release Piper At The Gates of Dawn in a deluxe 3-CD set with mono/stereo versions and other material from the time makes me very hopeful that any other future re-releases from that band would include at least something worth the money.

The Genesis boxsets were not about releasing new material, but releasing 98% of their studio output in the best possible quality. It's a shame that certain b-sides were skipped on the 1983-1998 boxset, but overall the boxsets sound great, look fantastic and are well worth their money - even though there was no new audio material (except for the Jackson Tape on the 1970-1975 box).

I would've been very happy if Queen would release three boxsets similar to the Genesis ones, with every album remixed, included studiomaterial from the era (b-sides and 12" mixes) and video commentary by the members about their feelings about the album, it's related tours etc. Fuck bonustracks, I'd kill to hear Innuendo in 5.1 and a (relatively) indepth 30 minute interview with Brian and Roger about each album. Who cares about audio-commentary? I want to see Brian and Roger reminiscing, smiling, getting excited about something. Not listen to a boring 2 minute commentary where Roger dumbs everything down to 'can't remember, didn't care' and Brian talking non-sense about the musical.

I can 100% understand that the market for a Queen 1 deluxe boxset with 3 cd's of outtakes will never happen. I can understand the same about QII, SHA and a lot of other albums in the catalogue. But I can't believe that even ANATO doesn't get treated to a deluxe boxset-type of release. That's where the money is these days. And to believe I was thinking 'they'll probably toss in Hammersmith '75 on ANATO, Rainbow '74 on SHA, BBC sessions on Queen and Queen II and Hyde Park on Races'.

Well, there is not too much price difference between the regular and DELUXE Edition of each album in Japan - several sites are princing them at 2200 and 2800 yens respectively. Of course a 2xCD is perceived by the public as more value,
but I guess that there are reasons aside marketing considerations to choose a bonus disc over extra tracks:
- Integrity: as the bonus tracks seem to be like a "selection" of rare/unreleased material from different sources, then perhaps some purists would think than the album should be left alone.
- Format continuity: the later albums would have to be 2xCD anyway, to allow room for bonus tracks.
- Aesthetics, etc.

I do not remember SWAFIB being on both Q and QII, but two different versions of SWAFIB being on QII.

People don't get too excited about the tracklists I posted earlier - it seems that they are outdated work-in-progress versions. Please disregard them. We all should wait for the definitive tracklisting to be announced soon.

The only positives for me are the following:

- any Hammy 75 track, but I bet they sound the same as the version which was broadcasted not so long ago by the BBC (with the overpowered snare drum)
- YTMBA from Hyde Park: does this mean the audio masters are in good enough shape? :)
- BBTLB acapella version
- Boh Rhap vocal section
- SSOR instrumental

The rest is a pure joke. Deep cuts? In Dutch we could say 'diep kut' which means something like utterly rubbish, to put it mildly.

Not bad, not too good either.

Plus side: Some completely new items, glad to see the BBC Sessions, Hammersmith getting an official release. Mad The Swine and KYA (Long Lost Retake) are a nice inclusion, to have them readily available again.

I think the audio commentaries will be more interesting on these 5 albums than the rest, we can finally find out more about things like TFFMS and Jesus! That said, I still won't listen to it more than twice. Waste of disc space!!

Negative side: Great King Rat (from BBC Session 3) we already have this officially released, would have been nice to have another from Session 2. MTRnR from the eYe, bit rubbish tbh, not the most interesting instrumental in the world and just recycling obscure material. Lots of readily available live tracks!! I have copies of all the live albums, and most fans do too. Bit of a rubbish excuse for interesting bonus tracks. ANATO - nothing unheard. Just average live performances we've all heard and remixes from the multitracks. Is the Bo Rhap one just an edit including the Opera section? Lame. But YMBF might be nice to listen to. ADATR - we've heard most of it before! Only YTMBA (Live) is properly new.

Back to positive, Deep Cuts sounds good. If the tracks are standalone (i.e with proper endings and no segues) then I'll be purchasing. Hope it gets some promotion to get them into public consciousness.

Overall, a couple of gems, a few nice additions and a load of stuff we've heard before.

Sorry, long and boring but I wanted to get it off my chest.

TOTAL SHIT!!!!

b/sides, karaoke, live which we already have.

I don't want to compare Queen with other bands -artists products. Queen had a chance to do something good and pioneer, instead they wasted it.

Ridiculous!!!

They came in japanese.

Reiher ? That's german and the name of a bird in english known as heron. But phonetically "Reiher" is identic to "Liar". So that may be the answer.

To be honest, I couldn't give a crap if the BBC Sessions were released officially now since we've heard them in excellent quality. QP are always bloody slow to do things.

I don't think the official track listings will be any better than the ones that were posted. I'm sure someone said a few weeks ago that there might be alternative versions of Mad The Swine, See What A Fool I've Been and/or Liar in the assumptions thread but I might be wrong.
