First of all, the first couple of days did have problems with the individual computers that were around the exhibition....a call out to Dolby, have now put this to right and you can enjoy full concerts from:
the Rainbow Theatre on the 19th, including the encore, Earls Court on 6th June 1977, Hyde Park 1976 and the whole of the 'Now I'm Here' footage from either TOTP of 45 (which is still under debate) and many clips from other concerts.

The rehearsal footage you see as part of the Bob Harris filmed section, and described by GB above, was filmed at Shepperton Studios prior to the band's second tour of the USA. The soundcheck footage is from Houston.

What the...? Complete Hyde Park in good quality? I need a change of pants. Maybe this is what Roger meant with 2011 being a good Queen year. I hope we see a nice live boxset in the future.

I sure hope they come to the USA! I mean how could one not visit Portland,Oregon? I would travel half way cross the country just to see this Exhibition [don't get me wrong]. I would be there all day taking pictures, listening to the remasters, watching all the concert[ and additional concert footage]. This is like a dream come true. If I really have to, I'll sell an entire arm and a leg just to catch a glimpse of Freddie's art examples [myself wanting to major in art/graphics].

"I don't see this great initiative making it's way to Sydney or any other part of Australia, or the rest of the world either. "

Well, the similar Abba exhibition last year went straight from London to Australia! So it depends on how big Queen were over there, I suppose? Approaching Abba level?

Question for Greg

Just came out of the exhibition, one question, are the drums on display a set of Roger's or where they put together for the exhibition?

The sizes are correct but the hardware and snare are not, for example the two floor toms are hanging toms, Roger has never used those as far as I am aware, and the snare is a black beauty metal one not his normal wooden snare.

As the kit is basically the same but rather well used shall we say I wondered if it was from a collector or a queen tribute band? the kit looks a little bit like it's had a hard life, yet it doesn't seem to be a kit that Roger took on tour
Is it just a representation of a genuine Roger Taylor kit?

Many thanks

Incredible.

One can only hope DVD releases are planned, as this footage should be seen by fans all over the world, not just by people lucky enough to be able to go to London for the exhibition..

I propose a Queenzone fund to buy our beloved friend Rick a new pair of pants... or preferably several pair of pants, as Rick will watch the DVD several times after it's released..

Hello,
Just back from London after spending 4.5 hours at the exhibition.
It worth every minute!
I just want to mention a few things about the videos.
Rainbow complete - but Mono (I saw a few minutes just to check the quality)
Hyde Park - Only the first 10 mins (Opening with the last part of Rhapsody + Ogre Battle) Again, good image quality but Mono.
Now the surprise (at least for me!) Earls Court 6.6.77 complete, with average image quality  (same as the copy I use to download from this site a couple of years ago) but GLORIOUS STEREO SOUND!  As you can use the mousepad to move through  the video I looked for WhiteMan/Prophet Song.... what a big pleasure hearing Freddie voice solo in full Stereo.  Then I checked White Queen and is the copy we all know, only Brian's Camera is working.
Do you know if a stereo copy of the Earls Court video is circulating? If that is old news, I am sorry, but for me that was one of the highlights of the exhibition! :-)

I'm a little surprised that far more people have not jumped on the multitracks subject.  I chose one box from each album, and an example that has something interesting about it... such as working titles... but no-one's really made much of it.

Simple Man, People Of The Earth, Happy Little F***, Banana Blues....

On the contrary Greg, that was my favourite part of the exhibition :) It was like looking at a little part of the Queen archive.

Sorry guys, I honestly don't know where the SiS will tour.  I don't think anyone knows yet because it's only just starting to be discussed.

SiS has had such a brilliant reaction, I'm sure it will tour in MANY countries... and since Queen have such great and loyal fans in Argentina and Brazil, and all over South America, I would certainly think S.A. would be a natural place for it to come.  Let's hope so.

If I hear anything, I will let you know here.

Could you possibly arrange for the giant backing boards for Queen II to be amended from 1975 to the correct year for this album??!??  (tsk, tsk to whoever was responsible for this error!!)

Cheers

Flipping heck!!!!

I must admit, I never noticed that.

And I must have been in that area 50 times!!!!!!

That means the ENTIRE wall there will have to be re-printed. I'm sure it'll be done.

Gary... get the silver paint out...  I'll give it a go!!!

Hello there AC30.

I'm sorry, I'm no drums expert, but I do know (I heard today) that aspects of the drumkit will be changed asap. I'm not sure of the detail, but certain things you mention ring bells. I think if you look again in a few days, certain detail will satisfy you more.

But... generally... YES they are Roger's drums, lent especially for this exhibition, NOT a representation. This aspect is being addressed so watch that space!

Greggy-weggy, re:

More smoke and mirrors - why did the exhibition contain a display that, patently, wasn't what it is purported to be?  Hoodwinking the less informed yet again.  You'd have thought that the miraculous changing of the setlist for the Montreal release would have been a lesson learnt.
