Absolutely - Brian's solo albums (except for the Starfleet Project Mini-LP) have been a complete let-down fror such a talented rock guitarist with AW being little more than a compilation of material available elsewhere. Its no wonder he'd had to turn his head towards other projects outside music as his only real solo success was piggy-backed on to the death of Freddie and the publicity that generated.[/QUOTE]
Indeed - Roger's solo output is far more a cohensive body of work. Having said that, the press release and the interviews Roger has given to Rhythm and Classic Rock for Fun On Earth really accentuate that this is an album that has been worked on here and there for 5 years - I really hope it doesn't turn into a Brian inspired mish-mash of jarring feels and styles (there are more trakcs on it that we already have than on anything he has previously put out)

Patience! I think we will see something very soon, GT mentioned on FB a few days ago that the sleeve notes for The Lot had just been approved, so I'd bank on an announcement being made about both album and box set in the next week or so.

I can't believe there is nowhere to pre-order Fun On Earth yet in the UK

I don't really have a clue what's going on here, but PR-wise, I can hardly call this a brilliantly executed campaign... It's not like Roger is a sufficiently big name on his own to create a frenzy by repeatedly pushing back release dates and keeping complete radio silence on the tracklist of his box set. If they want to sell to any but the most hard-core Queen-fans, they're really going to need all the promotion they can get, considering the size (and, likely, price) of the box set. Again, I'm not in the know in any way, but I'm beginning to suspect they've run into trouble of some kind somewhere along the way.

The problem they've encountered is that everyone involved is incompetent - which is presumably a given when they all seem to be fans picked from obscurity. Given the money Roger has, you'd think he'd be able to afford professionals to put together and promote his releases properly - maybe he's a tightwad? :) Apparently both the album & box set are being issued by Universal but have little to no involvement beyond manufacturing and distributing them - which would explain the ever moving release dates and lack of tracklisting information.

Wasn't this the same Roger Taylor who just recently told the MJJ estate to "get its a**e into gear"?
It's a shame that Roger's surrounded by arse kissing yes men who won't tell him that same thing...

PR-wise, it's really great. "Sunny day" is announced and played on the radio as the first single release from the album - but it's not possible to buy the single anywhere. But wait a minute! On the various Queen/RT websites they tell you to follow a link to a BBC program and go to 1h:07m.40s....unbelievable.

Exactly - surely if it's a new "single" as described it should have at least some details out as to release date, availability etc. If not, it's not a single but simply a 'new track'
