well i can hear bass on the track, not just synths!
take a closer listen for yourself.
i already did - it's an oberheim...and Brian plays it - but you're incapable of admitting you could be wrong (here we go again).
Gerry - the song is Brian's song with brian's guitar and brian's synth-bass playing
and even if you disagree with me - the simplest of google searches prove that YOU are wrong

NOTHING!!!!!
the same way as on other occasions one (or more) band members did not play on individual tracks.
being a group does NOT mean everyone plays on EVERY track, and certainly NOT always their own instruments
some examples:
Staying Power - john played lead guitar
Hot space - lots of synths and syndrums (replacing real drums)
The Works - fred mandel some piano & synth as did Mack.
AKOM (album) Joan Armatrading lead vocals on DLYH and Spike played some synths
Innuendo - Steve Howe lead spanish guitar part
then there's the lead/backing vocals switchovers between Brian & Freddie on songs like Fat Bottomed Girls
John played piano (electric) on YMBF
most of Good Company was Brian
this is just the "off the top of the head stuff"

10 Best (In no real order):
White Man.
Let Me Entertain You.
The Prophet's Song.
Fight From The Inside (Well I like it lol)
Get Down Make Love (Well I like that too lol....as the live versions from '79 to '82 are really cool)).
Keep Yourself Alive.
'39.
Another One Bites The Dust (Any S.A '81 Versions).
Don't Try So Hard.
Nevermore.
10 Not so Best lol (Again in no real order):
Bo Rhap (Ok, go on, hate me lol. Never been a fan, and has been killed to death on T.V & Radio over the years.)
See What I Fool I've Been.
Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (Yuk!).
Man On The Prowl.
Rain Must Fall (Not my kinda thing).
Friends Will Be Friends.
Sweet Lady.
My Life Have Been Saved (Not a fan of both versions).
Who Needs You.
Delilah.
Shame is wasn't a top 20 of both as both were hard to do, as I would add to the best:
STL.
TSMGO......and more to boot :-)

sorry, my slip - but that was from memory.
and that's all you can pick out of that list i provided- so that's not bad then. - esp once you consider that you set yourself up as some kind of superfan - yet you didn't know the difference between a real bass and a synth from the 80s? and worse still...you thought it was actually Deacy playing the bass on "Dancer" - you described it as a "good Deacy bassline" - which indicated you really know very little about his playing style

Even the most loyal knowledgeable Queen fan makes mistakes, even you!
so yes i was very surprised that the bass line on "Dancer" was a synth!
It does sound so similar to what john would do.
Its in his tempo of style too, like "Another one bites the dust"
Quite surprised you said Deacy played guitar on "Staying power" though!

you see, I really like hip hop, soul and even some funk...but the reason I like it is that the dance music of the time was actually quite genuine, lots of real dirty bass hooks, twin turntables and great voices. Grandmaster Flash, Gary Bird, Chic etc.
What Queen did primarily on Hot Space was destroy the sound and bury it in a muddy mix of synths and syndrums...for me - apart from Freddie's vocals - there's little to like about Hot Space
gerry wrote:well i mean fancy including "too much love will kill you" when it had killed freddie!.
Too Much Love Will Kill You was not about Freddie and had nothing to do with him. You do know that?

Top 10:
- Bohemian Rhapsody - 'Die hard fans' of Queen seem to like complaining that this is overplayed, or overshadows the rest of their work. Truly, though, I can't think of anything better for Queen to be known by - Bo Rhap is a perfect representation of what they were about in their prime.
- White Queen - Especially the live interpretation with the duetting piano and electric guitar. I would say without hesitation that Freddie's vocal performance at the March Rainbow show is superior to the album vocal, too.
- Killer Queen
- Save Me
- '39
- The Prophet's Song - I'd be claiming this as my magnum opus if I were Brian. It's let down only slightly by the vocal cannon lasting too long.
- Drowse - Seriously sublime work by Roger.
- Teo Torriatte - the HD mix is beautiful.
- Radio Ga Ga - it isn't classic Queen, but it has such a terrific atmosphere and sentimental feeling to it.
- It's Late
These ten are completely timeless to me, while my interest will shift around outside of this. Things like Dreamer's Ball, Spread Your Wings, Liar, Fairy Feller/Nevermore and Good Company are all amazing, but don't have the same enduring meaning to me personally as the ten above.
Bottom 10:
- Fun It - It's a fun listen, but just unimpressive. Freddie and Roger sharing lead vocals is a unique quality that makes it worth checking out, anyway.
- White Man - Meh. This has nothing that can't be found in the much more powerful Prophet's Song.
- Sweet Lady - I really don't think this is as bad as it's made out to be, it's just an okay rock song surrounded by excellent, genre-defying material.
- Who Needs You - It's a pleasant enough song, just forgettable. Sorry John :(
- Body Language
- Tear It Up
- Is This the World We Created? - The moving vocal makes me want to forgive this one, but the lyrics are much too hamfisted.
- Man on the Prowl - Discount Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
- Delilah - Certainly not Freddie's best.
- Don't Lose Your Head
I went to write Pain is so Close to Pleasure and My Baby Does Me on my bottom 10, but then realised I don't even remember what they sound like, so it wouldn't be a fair call.

There is no way I can narrow it down to just 10. Man, that's just hard. I generally nearly love everything Queen with a couple tracks here and there like Jesus and Body Language being the exception.
Queen Songs of the month for me are.. Don't Stop Me Now, Nevermore, 39', and Too Much Love Will Kill You.

My Fairy King

Seven Seas Of Rhye
Fairy Feller / Nevermore
Brighton Rock (Especially Live Killers)
Drowse
Sheer Heart Attack
Coming Soon
Princes Of The Universe
Not Best:
My Baby Does Me

Don't Lose Your Head (but I love A Dozen Red Roses..)
Who Wants To Live Forever (the only version I liked was the Adam Lambert live '12 version
Now I'm Here
Don't Try Suicide
