What the fuck?

A new Freddie track is a new Freddie track.
I don't care how they release it as long as it's no mp3.

Like most of Queen's 80's work.

And why didn't they use Freddie's vocals from Mr. Bad Guy.

Those vocals are much worse.

But it sounds like a Queen song, even akin to something of News of the World or The Game. That's more than we can say for quite a lot of their output from 1984. The lyrics are in an unfinished form on this recording too, remember. It's also just a really killer vocal by Freddie which we've never heard before; same goes for the full band.

I like it. It could have easily been on The Works as it's just as good/bad as Open Windows, Treat it up or Man on the Prowl. I can see some resemblance with the main chord structure of Hammer to Fall but I would besurprised if that even played a part on it being shelved.
On the resemblance I'm referring to the whole A - D/A Brian-esque cliche also used on Tear it up, AKOM, WWRY, it's late, etc. Although Let me in its not on the same key you can feel the same vibe and it kinda resembles a slightly slower version of HTF during the outtro.

yes it could easily have been on the Works - but like much of the rest of that album, it would've been filler and not much more
and funny that you picked "Keep Passing The Open Windows" - a blatant "lift" from Joe Jackson's "Stepping Out"...because as i referred in a previous thread to the similarities between the new Love Kills and Zep's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You", the more and more i hear LMIYHA it's bugging me...there's something in it that reminds me of Bowie's "Rock n Rock With Me"...can't put my finger on it tho....maybe it's just the syllables and the phrasing, don't know

It's not a great song. But Freddie's vocals are so damn good, I don't even care.

i take your point, but i'd like someone to help with identifying the similarity between LMIYHA and Bowie's "Rock n Roll With Me"...it's really bugging me
Oscar J · Member since
Not hearing any strong similarities other than it being of roughly the same tempo and with lots of backing vocals in the choruses.

i think it's maybe just the syllables and the inflection, dunno
and i know this is wrong, but everytime i hear Ebola on the news, i think of The Kinks

I guess we all get our own associations from songs that we hear. I havent really dug into the Bowie catalogue if I'm honest, maybe that's why I'm not hearing what you're hearing. :-)

I can't help but hearing "when left to face the blues, i give you satisfaction" as opposed to " we laugh to face the blues". anyone else agree?
