I just play drums, plain and simple like any other drummer on the planet![/QUOTE]
Most drummers on this planet play drums of some particular brand, or so I thought..............

Why respond to that and not Gerrys semi- acceptable rationale for preferring RT to NP?

Well, okay........I am not nor have never been a drummer, but anyway........I think Neil has a plenty 'clear cut' sound, along with plenty of cymbals, and plenty of every other part of his kit!
But really, its another case like comparing John to Geddy on bass, I think.........different style of player, different style of music (well kind of in same general area, but Rush was obviously way more prog/rock.....and Roger never liked super-long drum solos, either!)
Remember, by the way.........I said before even if I think that Rush are more technically proficient musicians than Queen, they're still not my favorite band! :D

They might be more technically proficient as individuals (Peart is frequently said to be the best drummer in rock, nobody ever talks about Taylor), but I'm not sure their songs were as groundbreaking or creative as Queen's in their prime.

I'd put forward that Queen were better vocally - both with Freddie as lead singer, and in their harmony work.

^^^ yeah as far as vocals go Queen were as good as it gets within popular music
