vocal harmony: are you for real what you just said?
Beatles, Stones, Zep, Rush, etc better musicians than Queen, your having a laugh.
No one is greater than Brian May & Freddie is an outrageously amazing vocalist, and John Deacon is a very versatile Bass player and Finally
Rogers drumming is second to none, a water tight four piece rock outfit, that knocks spots off everyone else around and rightly so.
Queen blew everyone of those artists away at "Live Aid" and that included all the rest in the states!
Gezza.....I take it you don't play any instrument? (Maybe the skin-flute)
This is just one example to negate your deluded views (even if you don't like the music - the musicianship far out-weighs Queen. Fact!!!)

The opener to a filmed gig. Prob not your thing?!
Bass: Blows Deacy away
Drums: Easily blows RT away
Guitar: Solid, correct and he also plays keys with his feet!!
Vox: Very solid - remember he's playing ridiculously tricky bass parts at the same time and also keyboards with his feet simultaneously (at the same time)
This is just the concert opener! Listen to many, many bootlegs and you will find them this consistent for many, many, many years. Something Queen weren't!!
Like I've said - If you can offer me up a similar musical/technical/consistent example then, I WOULD agree with you.
This was just an example of one of the 'easier' pieces.

agree 100% ^^^ - but you're kidding yourself if you think Gezza will agree.

I know....
I'm banging my head already!!
Rush.....never heard of them??

I love Rush but ...
Bass: Blows Deacy away.
I disagree: Geddy's bass is much more prominent than in many Queen songs but that doesn't mean it's better. John is a classy bass player, who has composed and played many intricate and innovative bass lines.
Drums: Easily blows RT away
Peart is an awesome drummer and is technically better than Rog in his prime. However, they are stylistically very different, and it;s a bit unfair to compare them.
Guitar: Solid, correct and he also plays keys with his feet!!
Lifeson is great! He has composed and played some amazing, very innovative guitar solos. I find much of his playing more interesting to listen to than Brian's. That said, Brian's solos are known to tens of millions of people, so he has obviously made a connection that Lifeson hasn't been able to achieve, perhaps because some of his stuff is a bit inaccessible to a general audience. Again, it;s not like for like and a bit unfair to compare them.
Vox: Very solid - remember he's playing ridiculously tricky bass parts at the same time and also keyboards with his feet simultaneously (at the same time)
Geddy sings like a teenage girl lol! Fred is so far ahead of Geddy it;s unreal, and I say that as a fan of Rush and Geddy. And Fred played piano and sang, so he could multi-task too!

Fair points indeed Holly.
I'll concur to accept your views but....will disagree on my initial post for the reasons stated.
Thanks very much for at least....some offer of discussion thus far.

I'd say what you said about Peart and Taylor could be applied (maybe even better in that case!) to Lee and Deacon!
John was never a 'lead' bass player (or probably didnt want to be!) the way Geddy was......they are both awesome bass players, I'd say........Geddy always gets all the accolades, but John should get way more credit than he does!
(totally going off on a tangent but I've been looking up the ranges of various singers lately...due to a probably futile argument in another thread.....Adam Lambert's is just as high as Geddy Lee! lol)

It is ridiculous to compare Queen to Rush.
Queen have every single band member who have had massive hits and there professionalism is higher than most groups, plus Queen have achieved much more than rush, always innovators leading the pack!
Queen are a better group than Rush, sheer technical brilliance and voted greatest rock group ever!
Who cares if Geddy can screech louder than lambert , singing is not about high range, a cat can screech as loud as lambert, but its not been offered a job in Queen!

Every member had massive hits?? Can you explain. I've been an ardent fan for 73 years and like I stated in a previous post - I'm not as knowledgeable as a hell of a lot.
I'm guessing you mean within Queen -certainly not in solo projects.
Queen are better through sheer technical brilliance? I guess you don't play any kind of instrument. Technically better??? One of the traits of Rush is their flawless technical prowess - this is a reason a lot of players don't play their stuff!
Voted best rock group ever? I find polls quite silly really (even though the members of Rush have topped them many years over) and their styles of music cover many, many genres too.
Even just before Fred's demise they weren't as big. Him dying really did up their profile and it almost 'seems' like people now say they love Queen purely cause it's cool to say so. You know, the ones who heard a copy of GH1 & 2,
Talk to them about for example 'The Millionaire Waltz' and they'll look bemused.
Gezza....all you feed off is journo-type sound-bites.
Here's another factoid for ya:
"Rush has released 24 gold records and 14 platinum records (including 3 multi-platinum), placing them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band"
I bet you've probably never heard any Rush stuff anyway?

Don't bother, ludwigs. With the way his narcissism is, he'll never admit to any other band capable of being Queen's musical equal.

Narcissists higher up on the scale have a bigger tendency to lie about their achievements, and they usually evade or create new excuses when confronted about their claims.

gerry wrote:The article i mentioned is real, but why should i have to prove it by producing a scan on here?
I have nothing to prove to anyone on here, so if its about brownie points then forget it i am more grown up than wanting to prove myself like a little school girl.
Thank you for completely validating what I said above.
Secondly i do not brag about everything like inu-liger, just to get folk to respect who i am.
Once again, way far off the mark old man. It was the work itself I did that earned the respect, not the so called bragging. Get your fucking facts straight for once and stop being an idiot.
I am like marmite you either like me or you don't, simples.
No shit. You're like the cheap dollar store brand that nobody will admit to ever liking, metaphorically speaking.
You will be surprised to know that i do know whats been available on Queen Brenski, have you forgotten i have been a fan 41 years!
Ive got collectors stuff from Japan, China, USA, Etc... and i know and seen it all, so that squashes your limp claims that i have never seen things you had on Queen - wrong!
Now WHO was it that was just earlier accusing me of bragging for brownie points?? Pot meet kettle.
i have master copies on Cd from news of the world, concentrating on seperate vocals and guitars , drums, bass on seperate tracks.
Whoop dee frickin' doo. So does everybody else! Unless you've got the 24-track "Stone Cold Crazy" multi (or any other uncirculated multi for that matter), you're no more special than anybody else as far as the leaked multitracks are concerned.
