It is ridiculous to compare Queen to Rush.
Queen have every single band member who have had massive hits and there professionalism is higher than most groups, plus Queen have achieved much more than rush, always innovators leading the pack!
Queen are a better group than Rush, sheer technical brilliance and voted greatest rock group ever!
you're obviously never even bothered to give them a proper listen, have you?

Who cares if Geddy can screech louder than lambert , singing is not about high range, a cat can screech as loud as lambert, but its not been offered a job in Queen!
Are you serious! I would doubt Queen could play a third of what Rush have recorded. As musicians they are light years ahead of Queen. I notice you picked up on Geddy's voice, why don't you comment on his Bass and keyboard playing or his part in the sheer brilliance of writing.

While on the subject of comparing musicians go and listen to how the west was won album by Led Zeppelin then come back and explain how Queen played better or at a higher level than them. . . .

Or go and watch Pink Floyd live at Pompeii watch the over head shots of nick Mason and tell me RT was or is better.

Rush are far more technically proficient players, at least as far as drums and bass goes. Possibly not guitar. I still far prefer Queen though, Rush just don't connect with me emotionally.

vocal harmony: answer me this , if Rush are so good why have they not been named as the greatest rock group ever, because Queen have.
Queen always seem to win this title time and time again as the greatest, blowing groups out of the water like Zep, Stones, Sabbath, Who, etc......
Freddies vocal talents could smash that lot hands down, and Brian May is the king of guitar hes god with the sounds he can make on that red special.
Sorry but i disagree with you on that subject, Queen are un-touchable.

because you have never properly listened to Rush..or any other band for that matter...not properly. to you, a band is either queen (the greatest) or mere background noise.
that level of musical myopia is blinding.

Gerry, if you don't ever take notice of anything i ever say - please take this one comment on board:
Give Rush. zep, Floyd, Purple and the Beatles a proper listen - not once for a song here and there...but repeated (at least half a dozen times per album - uninterrupted)

The five i've named above merely scratch the "rock" surface....there's so much more Small faces, Clapton, Sabbath, CCR, Van Hagar, UFO, Rainbow and even later bands like KOL and Killers...give your ears (and mind a chance)...enjoy

It's said that "ignorance is bliss", but your musical ignorance may make you "feel" contented with Queen...but you really are missing out on so much fella.

Seems to me they weren't talking about 'the greatest band ever' (well, maybe you were, but thats totally subjective anyway, and I am not gonna argue with someone saying Queen is!) but, (like YOU said) the 'sheer technical brilliance' of Queen vs Rush......

Yeah, Freddie's better than Geddy Lee on vocals, fair enough, he's the best singer of all time...........

Like I said before, Geddy Lee and Neil Peart are often cited as the best bassist and drummer in rock, respectively............(since you're so into polls and stuff)

With all that said, they still dont top Queen as my favorite band............damn close tho......

Give Moving Pictures or 2112 a listen some time.........who knows, you might like em........:)

Talking of good drummers, The sweet's Mick Tucker is brilliant and they are my second favourite group to Queen.
Also i like Thin Lizzy but mostly the 45s they had out in the 70s and 80s.
Remember when Queen when on tour with Thin Lizzy back in 1977 the tour was cleverly name the Queen Lizzy tour!

If you spent EVERY single minute of your spare time reading ...you still wouldn't (in your entire lifetime) read even 1/100th of 1% of ALL the books ever written that are worth reading. On average, books/novels/plays take approx 10-20 hrs actual reading time.

Conversely, the average LP = 50mins = less than 10% "book time".
Your blinkered approach to music is achieving less with music than most of us attain with books..You're only disadvantaging yourself fella.

Kind of rich coming from a guy who's been proven wrong by several people here over and over because, wait for it, YOU have a track record of misreading posts and getting what people actually said completely wrong, if not inventing lies and putting words in peoples' mouths, you judgmental little man.

Me too!!! Not at work tomorrow so just started on the first vodka and I am aghast at your statement Gezza.... I nearly spat it out in utter amazement.

What a ridiculous, inane, childish, brainless and.....just....STUPID thing to come out with.

Look, I don't like the Stones or so many others that majorities like but I would not be so dumb to make such a half-brained statement that you have.

If you had said - " They are better than Steps or Girls Aloud put together", then I could agree with you but c'mon. Have you listened to anything by either group? I'm not talking about 'Another Brick in the Wall' either.

You lost ANY hope of credibility with that comment.

Sir Gezza of Fog-on-the-Tyne - You still haven't answered my question. Do you or have you ever played a musical instrument. Please respond. I believe I know the answer already.
