if this was confirmed as your last chance ever to see queen(yes i know not the complete band),would you go along to a gig for sentimental reasons......say queen+adaam was the last ever tour,or looking back queen+paul was it,,,would you have gone to the concert even though you dont like the new singer...would your preduces have prevented you from going saying along the lines it aint queen....while thousands of others went along to most for the gig.but some going along because it was the last ever queen gig..and dont reply with why have mutton when we had lamb,or any of that crap...i loved queen in all forms....so would you have gone along just to say.i was at the last ever queen concert......and i have to say,,i would have gone along anyway....fred or no fred...remember this was your last chance before retirement....and PLEASE dont reply with the old saying,it aint fred.........just a simple .yes i would go or no i wouldnt go..
Yes, I'd go with very cheap tickets, otherwise, nope.
If Queen paid me 10 grand to sit through their concert I MIGHT consider it. Roger fucks off for a rest half way through doesn't he? Would you still go if Brian did that and his son played the guitar? They are past it.

The only thing Brian is playing these days is his stupid fucking selfie stick. He even looks bored on his own youtube channel.

I wouldn't. Loads of people would enjoy it far more, so one of them should have my ticket.
He's still playing guitar excellently on most shows. The stick with the Go Pro just a unique way of documenting the shows and the people attending them, probably mostly for himself.

I only went in 2012 because it was Hammy Odeon. That meant something to me on many levels. I'm glad I did it.

Cool setlist then and also on this tour (better than the US one last year) but the ticket prices are massive and the venue just doesn't do it for me.
I was sad to see a HUGE amount of Adam Lambert fans - even in the pub before MILFs were making such a fuss of him. I think the Queen fans like me took up our places middle and back.

funny you should mention MILFS..even in my ageing years i noticed that at glasgow...lol....

I HAVE TO SAY...if it were the last queen gig(whoever the main singer was)i would go along......if it was paul i would feel i was getting 2 or 3 concerts in one....if it was adam i would get queens greatest hits..so yes i would......it would be nice if they throw in some roger singles and brians as well..but having seen all combinations of queen i would love it.

I enjoyed the unexpected return in 2005, but it's a (slightly hesitant) 'no' from me ... I think :)

Ticket prices in Toronto were super expensive, especially if we compare to a band like Muse, which is on top of the world and charges less. At that price level I would not see them with AL. They would be better off doing a live show (guitar + drums) and playing Freddie's voice from a live concert playback. I would see that, unfortunately they are too old to keep up with the tempo from 30+ years ago.

Really tho? Reverse karaoke?? It's cool when it's done like that for the parts of BoRhap and LOML as a tribute to Freddie, but over a whole show? Like Brian said, a concert should be 'live and dangerous' (which is kind of a silly way to put it, but I think I know what he means....)
I'd honestly rather see a Queen concert with Brian and Roger handling all the lead vocals.......or watch an old dvd or listen to an old bootleg......than see a 'half-live' concert....

I don't think they are too old to keep up-tempo, by the way. I think that it's as they have got older, they prefer to take the songs at a slightly slower pace. Quite often they played songs in their live set far too fast, and it certainly had amazing raw energy at that time, but it lost a bit of clarity. As musicians, they appear to want to give the songs the breadth that they have on the studio recordings these days, rather than rushing. I'm sure they could play faster if they wanted. OK, Roger might have to do fewer fill ins, and Brian might have to do fewer runs, but I've seen some very old musicians play some works pretty fast.

I'm interested in the 1971-1991 period, and I'm glad to keep posting, reading, writing and learning about it, the same way a palaeontologist remains interested in creatures that became extinct long before any human-like creature ever drew breath.
No. There's just a point where I don't want to see it anymore because it will never be as good as it was, so I'm moving on to other music - the ace records from their glory days still stand as solid masterpieces, so why make do with an inferior substitute? To be quite honest - if it hand't been for Innuendo, I think I might just have ignored everything after The Game.
You are a depressing guy
How on earth is that depressing? I just don't like to listen to music being performed worse and worse every time, so I choose to listen to new music instead and cherish the good records Queen made in the past.
