It's a dude that's having, finally, his (maybe) favourite version of the song in it's purest form possible, without clicks or anything regarding the vinyl imperfections. Also he could be a completist, but otherwise he's having a digital and clean version of a wanted remix. No sarcasm intended, I suppose.[/QUOTE]
I don't say this product is great. It's another cash-grabbing compilation for Joe Public as 'LOLSOS' was 10 years ago. But now they finally release this single remix on CD after 16 years of omission.
I don't count these 7" edits which can be made in 5 minutes in Sound Forge.
Some tracks timing from amazon:
The Fallen Priest (single edit) 2:55 Living On My Own (single edit) 3:05 Made In Heaven (single remix) 4:08 The Golden Boy (single edit) 5:14 She Blows Hot & Cold 3:39 - it seems, they bothered to restore studio chat before the song for the first time since original single.

If this is the "rather nice Freddie news" they're talking about, hate to sound like i'm complaining, but i'm not amused. It's like that Genesis R-Kive album all over again. We could at least hope this ain't the only thing released for Freddie's 70th.

Appalling album cover and title - really hideous on both counts.

I'm so dissapointed with this forthcoming release. Although we get all his solo singles on coloured vinyl now we had all his solo singles in the past with the FM solo collection boxset or the Lover of life singer of songs compilation. For the new release we even not getting never before seen pictures. And i forget a couple of other Freddie compilations with all his singles. I was hoping for a spectacular release for his 70th birthday because our hero deserves it. Like what Chief said, i would buy that. How about some Queen demos Freddie worked on on his own. Video footage, interviews, The Great Pretender performance from a German show. So many options... But again the fans are left standing.

Hm...does this mean we finally get FM solo on Spotify? :D

Not entirely surprised at fan's reactions at this product, although looking at the comments here, I think they are a bit harsh. The 7" vinyl format has never before been released in its entirety until now, and on coloured vinyl too. Not sure what people were expecting.

This is SO fucking shit. I can not understand any Queen / Freddie fan buying this if they already have those tracks.
It's just fucking infantile putting them out on coloured vinyl in an attempt to create a 'collectable'.
Look on eBay for previous releases of QPL created 'collectables. They fetch fuck all.
The only collectables in my eyes are as mint as possible original release vinyls of Queen albums and singles.
Everything else is as important as that '40 years of Queen' mockrabillia book.

People were expected Hyde Park.
Although I sure that they will buy this single collection ;-)

I guess we´ll see a simular release with all the 7" singles of Queen on coloured vinyl... maybe also a 12" collection box set. I´d be honest... never a second I´d await a great "never before released" FM release this year. I think no-one is really intereted in having those things. Only for some completists like me, this is an option to buy it.

How many more times they will be releasing a new plastic and paper instead of new unheard music and tell us how it's great ?

And: "Freddie Mercury - Messenger of the Gods" - don't think I've heard anything more stupid to be honest.
What's wrong with "Legend", or "Lover of Life, Singer of Songs"?

As often as we keep buying it?

That in it's self explains the problem. Queen productions/ island re release the same stuff, re jigged, re packaged re what ever in more exsensive wrapping with bells whistles and bows in some kind of miss guided belief that that is what fans and collectors want.
Out here in the real world what we probably want is re mastered (maybe remixed) not compressed to hell and back good quality re releases with genuine rare extra tracks and a continuation of live 70's audio and where possible visual re leases, again carefully restored and mixed by someone who knows what they are doing.
Other artists manage it, why not QP. . .
Just for the record, I'm not buying into this re re release of songs that have long been available no matter who's birthday it is or how it's sold or packaged
