So what did you think?
Saw the DVDs at my local Walmart today, but I didn't buy it. Terminal cancer is expensive :'(.

After 2 times in the theater, second time with excellent sound and now watching the 4K at home, I think Rami and the movie both have a good chance of capturing those coveted Oscars!
I think playing Freddie was more challenging than Christian Bsle playing Cheney!

Haven't seen Christian Bizzle fo shizzle in that film. Have my doubts. I still don't understand how such a terrible film is reaping all these "awards" unless it's a reward system for its major grossing ($$$) in a heavily pirated industry.
Ramizzle on the other hand really didn't embody Fred that greatly. It was decent to horrifying (the LIVE AID bit was terrible. Choreography, shots, continuity etc. Don't know why it was shown in near entirety except perhaps due to the rumored notion that the execs/suits saw the project as being a probable failure and hurriedly had Dexter Fletcher come in and do some work arounds.
Though we'll probably never get it, I'd like to know an accurate representation of who shot what.
As for myself, I'm aware it came out. Not gonna spend a cent on it.
I WILL however likely be attending that free screening in los Angeles with the producer / editor and sound mixer on a panel discussion.
Go look it up at "American Cinematheque" if in los Angeles. I had posted before but got little interest, likely cause no one here's from L.A..
Back to topic....Freddies character is not represented well in the film. The dude was funny. The only indication we got in the film was one bitchy comment "villainy".
The movie is trash. So trash

Rami is still getting lots of PR. He’s thinking about buying a home in the UK:

I think it's possible that Rami might just win. But to win for Best Picture...I think it's extremely unlikely.
Well yes, playing Freddie was challenging. Goes without saying. One of my favorite but bittersweet parts in the film didn't even happen at all, when Freddie was being tested. It really is a shame some things are out of place, but I don't like the fact that some people have watched this and think it's all true, when it's not.

Whether it was totally accurate or not, one of my favorite parts in the movie was how they portrayed the writing and recording of Bo Rhap. And all of the fun dialogue about “I’m In Love With My Car!”
My favorite part was the credits and the opening scene. It wasn't bad but quickly fell apart.
....you THOUGHT I was gonna say the credits, didn't you???!!
Hahaha. But no, i could watch that YouTube sourced web rip of DON'T STOP ME NOW on my phone anytime of day.
Hell....it might even LOOK BETTER on my phone! Bwahahahahhahaa!

I like all the cat scenes, especially the little cat that pops his head up on the side of the bed. He looks like he is very playful. They probably got him all wound up chasing a string or something.
The truck stop scene when Freddie is talking to Mary on the phone: I’m pretty sure they put catnip on the couch next to Mary. Because the cats were smelling something on the couch and the cat that came over to Mary to get attention looked a bit high on catnip.
I loved the cats looking out the window as Freddie drove off. And the cats’ reaction to Freddie when Freddie’s voice was not cooperating. So cute.
Of course, besides the Mary Freddie phone scene, all of the cats’ parts were edited in. Rami is allergic. So who is the person (stunt double?) in the robe walking through the kitchen as the cats have breakfast? Rami with allergy medicine? Hmm.

Is this the first movie that includes Live Aid in its plot? It was such a big event at the time.
I was 23 years old at the time and I bought a VCR (if my memory is correct) so that I could tape Queen. So there I sat in my apartment with my little TV and I was so excited when Queen came on that I started shaking. It seemed like forever since I had seen them in concert. And they did so well. I was really proud of them. I think the movie does a good job paying tribute to that day.
I thought the line by “Brian” about them feeling like four dinosaurs, and people asking, “Where’s Madonna?” was pretty funny. Because at the time, as strange as it might seem today, Madonna was a “big deal”. People either loved her or dismissed her talent, but there was a lot of hype.
And for those here who were not born yet, there was a lot on the TV news about the starvation that was occurring. It was all very sad and desperate. Thus, the reason for the concert to raise money.
