and for those who (elsewhere) have said The Miracle is one of Queen's weaker LPs -
Their weakest by a long mile
in your opinion.
I'd say: Hot Space, Works, AKOM, Flash OST - all worse than Miracle.

Matter of taste. Surely some strong songs on it. But Rain Must fall/Baby Does me/Party/KHashoggis Ship/ Invisible Man are in the top 10 of my most hated QUeen songs. I would not count Flash as a proper Queen album. It is a soundtrack and serves its purpose fine. The two "real" songs are outstanding as there are other instrumentals that are (especially Football fight)

it's nearer to the "classic queen" sound, while managing to be fresh and different to anything they'd done before.
A (sort of) late 80s "Jazz at the Races"

Is the overall strength of the Miracle album even relevant to this topic. There’s clearly 4 or 5 songs good enough to be blended into a hypothetical live set.

I thought the previous album had one or two moments, Princes of the Universe for instance, but not the overall sound or feel of the album. The Miracle does sound like the band had returned and were pulling in the same direction instead of making individual musical style statements and getting lost in the process.
Thankfully they continued and produced Inuendo.

I suppose it may be - if the "new live songs" are used live to promote the new album. Most tours for most bands there's usually new stuff used.
If the album is good enough, some tracks are retained for future tours.

and..taking the hypothetical one step further...
How about if the usual band improv/call and response were to happen just after:
Invisible Man...cue Brian playing instrumental snippet of Who Wants To live Forever, as Freddie says "there's been a lot of rumours in the press saying I'm not well, ignore them...I'm going to live forever darlings". This then segues into a band instrumental of Death On Two Legs, Freddie then adapting his classic call-and-response to "dead-oh, dead-oh, dead-oh ...dead dead dead oh" before sliding (fittingly) into Another One Bites The Dust

Freddie said on a radio one interview with the band in 1989 that he was the spanner in the works and he just did not want to tour at all so all the above set lists are trash, because it would never have happened because at that time the band knew Freddie was ill.

Breakthru the extended version would have been brilliant opener to a Miracle tour.

Everyone knows the whys and wherefores, and that this discussion is hypothetical and therefore rendered academic. The point of the topic is really just a "what if?"
People are getting along nicely, having a reasonable discussion about what they'd have liked to see in a "Miracle Setlist", then you come back and shit all over everything.
Pity your break couldn't have been a little longer, Geraldine...say 10 years!

You're only here for our amusement. You're like some stupid puppy chasing his own tail.
If you even stopped and thought about the band you claim to love, then threads like this would help you understand the evolution and the chronology of the setlist.
For almost 16 yrs the band compiled setlists based upon three things: Staples (hits), New songs and fan favourites.
This thread although appearing as a bit of harmless conjecture, also give an insight into the third section of the setlist - fan favourites.
Either you hadn't a clue, or you knew this and you're just being your usual (provocative prick) self.
