Gerry instead of casting more blame why not talk to me? I, like most on here, can be fair too.
If your going to make an effort I will too. Do we have deal?

Gerry, anyhow - back on topic. So, the hypothetical of the thread: Freddie never got ill, and a Miracle Tour did take place.
My ideal setlist: c'mon - it's a belter eh? (Every LP is represented) and this is a knockout 2-hour show.
The Hero >> Tie Your Mother Down >> Breakthru >> Somebody To Love >> Killer Queen / Keep Yourself Alive / Liar / Seven Seas of Rhye (medley) >> I Want It All >> Scandal >> A Kind of Magic >> Under Pressure >> Invisible Man >> Another One Bites The Dust >> Love Of My Life >> You're My Best Friend >> Don't Stop Me Now >> Crazy Little Thing Called Love >> Hammer To Fall >> Radio GaGa >> Bohemian Rhapsody
Encores: One Vision >> Was It All Worth It >> We Will Rock You >> We Are The Champions
and what about the adlibs: these would go down well with the audience:
just after: Invisible Man...cue Brian playing instrumental snippet of Who Wants To live Forever, as Freddie says "there's been a lot of rumours in the press saying I'm not well, ignore them...I'm going to live forever darlings". This then segues into a band instrumental of Death On Two Legs, Freddie then adapting his classic call-and-response to "dead-oh, dead-oh, dead-oh ...dead dead dead oh" before sliding (fittingly) into Another One Bites The Dust
Brenski Your set list is still a bit of the old set list stuff but that is your choice ! How about mixing things up like to have a fantasy set list?
I Want It All - Breakthru - It's A Hard Life - You & I - March Of The Black Queen - Flick Of The Wrist - Scandal - Radio Ga Ga - The Night Comes Down - Seaside Rendezvous -
Ogre Battle - Save Me - Was it all Worth It - Now Im Here - Its Late - Friends Will Be Friends - Who Needs You - Fight From The Inside - Seven Seas Of Rhye - In The Lap Of The Gods (Revisited)

Yep, but I put the early stuff in a medley - that would appeal to the older generation fans.
I note you left out the classic encores? and you've included a few songs they never performed live - wonder how those would go down with a mass audience?

Would Was It All Worth It even have existed? I could almost ask the same question of Scandal, though I think it more likely to have existed.

Yeah i included songs that have never had the Queen live experience because it was such a shame that they got ignored.
"You & I " would have been brilliant i can just imagine Brian putting in some exciting guitar licks on that song and making it even rockier than the studio track.

Was It ALl worth It was the "epitaph" song to be released if Freddie wouldn't have made Innuendo which was very unlikely at the time Miracle was released. They never thought they would make another album. It has the same "Farewell" retrospective lyrics like SHow must go on. The best song on The Miracle by far. Very underrated

Nice collection of songs in that set list . I could see it working if there were was a break after FWBF then taking the pace down with Who Needs You.
My take on this fantasy gig is that it’s in a prestigious theatre in London for a few nights. Not pretending that Freddie wasn’t sick but just well enough to do some shows.

In 78/79 the acoustic version of Dreamers Ball seemed to work quite well, thinking of it occupying a similar position in the set, Who Needs You would work really well. Looking back on old setlists You And I seems to be quite an omission, but I also think Long Away may have been a great live song so that needs to be added maybe.
ST17 you've included In The Lap a Of The Gods (revisited) between 74 and 77 before Chapions and We Will Rock You that song was a great set closer.
In this fantasy late 80's setlist maybe this should be the encore, but after a longer than usual wait they could come back with a 2nd and final encore of WATC/WWRY three big sing alongs for the price of a ticket!

I did find in the 80s Queen kept the same set lists far too long and it became boring and stale .
I wish they had mixed things up a little and had a surprise part of the show where they would pick at random a song they had never ever done live!
runner_70 · Member since
Queen hardly ever mixed up setlists like SPringsteen for example. Not even in the 70's. The difference back then was there was no internet and the show reviews came up way later
