Nazilla - yes, Freddie was gay (nothing wrong about that, at least here in Europe). Yes, he was almost certainly infected during unprotected sex.

As for your other question, I don't know if he went to hell, heaven, pub, hotel or anywhere else. I guess that depends on if there is any hell, heaven, pub or hotel for dead people.
