Nazila, the person that gave Freddie the disease is obviously long gone. If you watch the Freddie and Kenny Everett documentary on Rien's site http://www.mercuryparadise.com in the downloads/videos section (on Windows Media Video format), you'll get a concrete idea as to how Freddie got HIV (which later developed into AIDS) and who POSSIBLY may have given it to him (we still don't know, for the record, who really gave it to him - but there is no doubt the person is dead). So because that person that gave Freddie AIDS is dead, he got what they deserved for giving Freddie HIV/AIDS and so therefore there is no need to go out and kill him, and I apologize to everyone if what I said, about the person givnig Freddie AIDS, is offensive, but that is what I feel and that is my opinion. (But then again, of course, I'm (in)famous for my offensive posts, aren't I?)
Of course, it is also partially Freddie's fault for not paying attention to the warning signs of AIDS and the risks of it in the 1980's, and he ultimately paid the price, that is the sad part.

And Nazila, it's not really a stupid question, in my opinion. We don't mind people asking questions, but I would like to recommend in the future to do research on sites that have biographies and "Queen facts" or "Freddie facts", whatever the subject may be that you are curious about.

Oh good, well that's cleared that up, at least we all don't have to rush out this weekend and try to kill someone for infecting Freddie.

You certainly have a right to your opinion, but why would you think that? Freddie probably passed the virus on to a lot of other people too... did he get his just desserts as well? True, but ask yourself, have you ever had unprotected sex? Have you ever had a one night stand? When is the last time you were checked for sexually transmitted diseases? How do you know that you don't have anything, and you are not passing it to whoever you sleep with? AIDS/HIV doesn't appear over night.... it can appear domant for months, undetected.

For most people AIDS information is readily available. Even before there was "AIDS", there were other diseases to worry about (all of which are still around)... everyone knows what they can get, but no one ever thinks it will happen to them. No one "deserves" to die because they have passed a disease on to someone else. I find that comment to be very ignorant.

I only said that person deserved to die, which he WOULD have anyways, because I feel Freddie was more important to us rather than, for example, some old skanks off the streets of Paris. I would rather have dirty whores die of AIDS in some cases rather than having our Fredster die of AIDS. Of course, what happened in the past happened and we can't change that fact, and Freddie is gone.

I think that people are very ignorant when they have unprotected sex, with someone they don't know. This includes Freddie, as like I said he had unprotected sex with guys and didn't care about AIDS, and therefore he was also at fault, and paid dearly with his life.

But then again, look at the people of South Africa. They are 25% infected with HIV/AIDS. Is it me, or are they just plain promiscuous and unknowledgable about AIDS, or do they not care who they have sex with as long as they have kids, regardless of whether they have AIDS or not from their mothers? I'm just curious.

Stop and ask yourself this question: Do you think that I am honestly having sex with girls, when I don't even have a g/f? Although I have made out with three girls in total since 1998, I have never had sex. And I know better than to have unprotected sex, because I certainly don't want to be a father way too early in life - that's the one risk I am most scared of, STD's next. I would rather wait, and then plan ahead before fucking a girl just to have a kid or two, or maybe more - you never know.

And I'm clean, for the record. If I had contracted anything, I would be sick by now and would have noticed, which hasn't happened thankfully.

Look.... like most of the people here, I love Queen, and am drawn to the Freddie Mercury legend. But.... stop holding him on a fuckin' pedistal. He was a human. Humans sleep around. Humans make mistakes. Just because he was the frontman of a rock band doesn't give him extra special consideration.

I live in Ontario Canada if you must know. I have a graduate degree (with honours, thank you), and most of my friends are highly educated. I know many, many, many, many people who have had numerous sex partners... sometimes unprotected. The difference between them and "people in Africa" is that they have money to buy condoms... packs of condoms. They aren't relying on free-aid to give them condoms when the feeling strikes them. here in the west people are educated, and know how AIDS is transmitted... people in Africa aren't so lucky. In small villages they dont have tvs, radios, etc. literacy rates are low. unfortunately, people who are uneducated get burned much more often then those who have free, wide-spread access to information. in fact, people in the west have NO EXCUSE TO GET AIDS... when information is in their faces on a daily basis. But then again... humans will be human.

That's not a safe assumption. Someone can carry HIV for many years without any symptoms arising.

'ER' had a 13 year old boy with Chlamydia last night, and his five or six girlfriends weren't very pleased to have to get tested.. but I think one of them was very sick and didn't even know it til she came in.. and now she might lose the ability to have children.

Inu Yasha, yes, we all love Freddie and we are sorry he is dead, but he was just a human being and had sex with many people. So "dirty whore from Paris" doesn't deserve to die from AIDS, nor does Freddie, nor anyone else. If you still think that another human being is less worth than Freddie only because he was a famous rock star, and that other person is a whore (for example) then I think something is really wrong with you and your moral oppinions. Now, I don't wan't to offend you by saying this, but it is really childish, not to say racist way of thinking, if you classify people by this. (is someone a whore or a rock star).

That's the fucking point, don't you get it?????? IT WAS HIS OWN DECISION TO SLEEP WITH SO MANY PEOPLE!!!!! And I think many people start to sell their body because they don't have, or don't see, another escape.. Please don't judge people so easy... What I wanna say is that Freddie was no better nor worse than anyone else, including whores. And didn't deserve to die just as any of those infected people did.
