I like the Hot Space album. It's not my favorite, but it's interesting, to say the least. And plus, it's got a great cover. I'm using that as my wallpaper on my computer right now.
Anyway, I'm not really sure. Roger and Brian did Queen + 5ive to get Queen's music across to a younger audience, so they had good intentions.
Actually, the thing that embarasses me isn't Queen, but what happened in the 80's in the US around the time of Hot Space. They deserved much more success here, and only received it for Another One Bites The Dust/CLTCL. We really neglected the band after The Game. :(

The Highlander soundtrack songs are embarrassingly schmaltzy to me. Very gooey and overdone in an unpleasant way.
I know a lot of people like them, but I cringe a bit when I hear them.

In front of other people I'm embarassed that my favourite band is considered to be THE gay band of all time. I also have a problem with that, but my love for Queen is much stronger.
The idiots one ends up having to associate with as a result
Queen do seem to have a reputation as being a "gay band" I'm often asked about this. My reaction is always Queen were 25 % Gay, therefore they were not a gay band!
The gay issue seems to discourage teenagers mostly but i think most eventually come round to the fact that a great band are great band no matter the lead singers preferences.

Delilah. They meow in that song, for God's sake!
Anything that is done now by 'Queen'.

- thats very harsh. What about the 46664 concert? "Say its not true" didn't you feel proud by Queen's contribution - not simply performing on the day but helping to organise it?

The only things I think are a REAL embarassment to the Queen name are the Pepsi WWRY and the 5ive WWRY... Other than that, I can't think of anything else... At the moment. Now, As for Queen with Freddie, Not a damn thing! :D
And the musical is produced by 'Queen'.
I'm not embarrassed by Queen's decision to go to
South africa - but i think it was a mistake.

nope, i agree with m@att. these days they are milking it to the extreme. sure, you have to respect that concert cos it was for charity. if it hadnt been for charity it would have been different, admit it.
I am not embarrased about anything Queen did or do. I can only be embarrassed about my own mistakes or stupid things I say or do. I am not responsible for anything Queen or their management are doing, so why should I feel bad about it? In the same way I am not proud about anything the band did, it's not my achievement.
If you feel embarrassed about Freddie's sexual orientation, you should re-assess your values. There is nothing shameful about being gay.
